of course i want town to go up and i want them to stay up. moving to a higher league, everyone expects higher wages. it has been said elsewhere, that with slight tinkering our squad could hold its own in L2. i just cited the result at wycombe. relegation from any division can cause cash problems, but probably not for the board

when we are promoted in may, some money will be made available for gt to further strengthen the squad.my glass is 3/4 full as long as we improve on the last 4 games. i am sure running a football club is like running any other business, to aim to make a profit whilst promoting an exciting product
 
Although some club attendances in league 1 are equal to league 2 there are bigger clubs and of course higher gate fees. You will also get a surge in attendance for our club.

i cant see how you can bring last nights wycombe result into anything,they still have a very good chance to stay up and plenty of games left!!. With our attendance we are a L1 or even a capable championship side, but it seems a lack of ambition from the board,and a few on this site, the likes of Crawley and Fleetwood from BSP are cash rich clubs..then you have the likes of Swindon buying a few players, Cheltenham with their low gates, still banging away on the door of promotion! ,the likes of Wildig and Wallace aint going to get us promoted thats for sure, our Ambition should be based on our attendance's and in my opinion the board are falling way short...GT should be given more financial support!!

We don't get anything from away gate receipts. We survived in the old Second Division for some time because there used to be a certain percentage going to away clubs. That changed midway through the 80's and it became increasingly difficult for small clubs to compete. That is why you are unlikely to ever see an Ipswich or Notts Forest or Derby win the league again unless they have a sugar daddy.

A basic symptom of our society as a whole. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer never mind that "we are all in it together".
 
We are limited in capacity for away support-about 1200 allowing for the cordoning off of sections.(Filled by Plymouth so far this season).

Agree that there might be an increase in support possibly in season tickets but casual support will rapidly drop off if we struggle.

To counter balance that, if we don't achieve promotion this season I can see a lot of season ticket holders not renewing through disillusionment. The cards have always been stacked in our favour and we invariably bottle it.
 
Capacity for 1200 away support is pretty good, and they could always expand into the family area if possible. Then there's those bloody corners to fill!!
 
In an all seater stadium you could not increase the capacity for away support without building. You cannot expect season ticket holders in the Family Stand (??) or more pertently in Block 1 to move.
 
I thought the last block of seats on the east stand was either not season tickets / overflow. Perhaps I was wrong.
 
Also used for schools(and the future of our long term support) on many occasions, so hardly ever "always almost empty".

It is still impractable to use it for away support as a large area of it or a large area of block 2 would have to be cordoned off. Exit and entrance for home support would be restricted with the buffet not being available to the away support unless free movement was allowed to the North Stand

In fairness it is always almost empty, it is rare that you will see even 50 there - but I suppose judgements such as that are subjective. I wasn't advocating to allow away fans to sit there, simply confirming that there are no STHs there.
