Hi guys,

Manchester United fan in peace here. As you all know, Ireland will be making his début shortly. But, has spoke about his mistreatment by Gerard Houllier at Aston Villa. One of the things, he's stated were, he's had to pay out of his own pocket for medical treatment and was told to move closer to the stadium. It only takes him around 75 minutes to get to the training ground and stadium, some of the other players travel from London in order to make it to Villa. I have a feeling strong feeling that Ireland will be a successful footballer at Newcastle and wish him all the best.

P.S take care of him <laugh>

Yea I think with him saying all this means we could get him for cheaper.

With the finances and what he's said, Villa can't exactly hold onto him now.

I have a feeling we could be signing this lad on a permanent. He is forcing his way out of Villa by saying all of these things.

Agree, needs to be fit and get a few games under his belt for us before I make a decision on whether he's worth keeping. Obviously wasn't happy at Villa under Houllier, he expected to be playing for O'Neill but he quit a couple of days after Ireland signed. If he can re-capture his Citeh form he will be a great signing.

He will never ever return to Villa, Gerard Houllier's made his life a misery. Since when do you tell a player not turn up for training? He'll sign for you guys on a permanent deal. I do not see why Houllier dislikes Ireland, Houllier will be gone very soon. If he does go then Newcastle will need to try their hardest of maintaining Ireland at St James' Park.

Must admit .. I'm slightly wary of footballers who whinge about their existing/previous clubs and managers .. even if that's to manufacture a move away, we've not seen Ireland produce anything for us yet .. last thing we need is a bling merchant who moans at the slightest request that he's not keen on .. yet to convert me for sure and this little tirade has done little to convince <ok>

To be fair Ireland was the one complaining about about bling merchants at Man City. And we've hardly seen anything from HBA but we signed him up. I think though he'll be the sort of lad that could settle in quite well at our club along with the likes of Nolan, Joey, Smithy seems to be of the the same mould, hope he does well for us.

I still wonder how a man who does this to a prestigious car...

...could ever have a degrading opinion about anything.

Don't get me wrong .. I hope he's a great addition, he certainly had ability when at City, just not keen on seeing footballers who need to capture past form blaming all and sundry .. boo hoo Stevie, no one else likes Oooliaay either - get over it and get on with making yourself an NUFC favourite .. <ok>

Wasn't having a dig mate, just mean't that once settled he seems like he maybe similar to the guys mentioned who, lets face it have never been the most popular lads in football but seem to have found a home among the misfits of Newcastle and seem to have formed a good, hardworking, playing for each other unit. I hope Ireland is the same.
