I was chatting with a fellow Bluebird the other day about cars.

While sorting through all the usual clutter in his boot he asked a question which neither of us were completely sure of the answer. We were both perplexed over the legal situation on keeping a Jack in your boot at all times.Anyone an here offer any advice?Isn't it a legal requirement these days?

I am struggling to find an answer online to this question but as a spare wheel is a legal requirement then I would have thought having the right tools to change a wheel would also be a legal requirement. Having one without the other would not make any sense to me.

I guess it is possible as long as you have the right wheel, in good enough condition to replace a duff one, and you call assistance to make the change it might be ok.

Have a chat with a local MOT garage, they will know or even have a look at your last MOT paperwork (if you still have it) <ok>.

according to my research there is no legal requirement for either a jack or a spare but highly advisable

I'm not sure if it's a legal requirement but its definately advisable. I used to have a hydraulic one but I find the ones you wind up much easier.

As long as you replace Jager with Daiswan.

Sorry H, only joking - Bobby would be no good for us anyway. He can always see both sides of an argument as soon as he starts it..........<laugh>

They sell them at my local motor factors, just go in and ask for a JH.

May I suggest ITIWRAN as the new moderator in place of Bomber , any seconders out there

That's ok.... I didn't want to be a mod anyway. I wanted to be a lumberjack. Leaping from tree to tree as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia
