i like the guy, he has done well for us. however I think Lee will be an instant hit, we have not had a striker playing on the shoulder of the the last defender since pahars, Lee will have a bonanza with service from Lallana, Lambert, Fox, Richardson who all whip in crosses behind the defence and with spidy through the middle. I am an excited little boy

We are not playing badly but have hit the doldrums...we need someone to revitalize us..think T. Lee could be it. Feel sorry for Barnard that his injury has prevented him from being involved this season...could yet get a chance if his injury clears up.

Based on this if Lambert had been injured this season up till now you would say he isn't good enough for the premier league? They're different types of strikers but I wouldnt have said their was a massive gulf in class between the two last season, they were both superb unfortunatly only lambert has had the opportunity to carry this on.

Said it before and ill say it again. It's a little weird how his op plus recovery time. Make him return just before his court date. Could be Saints want to keep him away until then or already know he is going down?.

Yeah, don't write Barny off just yet, the club have faith in him, so I do aswell.
Been a bad year for him, but sometimes its how you respond.

Not saying he isn't, just saying it's a little wierd. Saints could easily keep him out for a little more etc.

Whenever I hear the word conspiracy I want to reach for my gun...life is a lot more straightforward than people think. If Barnard wasn't injured, he would have played or been on the bench. There is no advantage to us in not playing him..regardless of the court case.

I didn't say he wasn't injured just saying they could prolong his comeback. So it overlaps his courts case as well. There for the case etc wouldn't disrupt the team.

I think this will be Connolly's last season so maybe there is still time for Barnard to prove himself as he did sign a 3 year deal in the summer. I am big fan of Barnard and i think he deserves a chance at championship level so hopefully he will back soon and can shown what he brings to the side

Barnard is nowhere near as good as Lambert.
Lambert is a far superior Striker.

Lambert 21 goals inc penalties(not sure how many at least 5) in 45 apperances last year. Barnard 14 goals in 36 apperances including 12 subs and obviously no pens. So on this basis they were very simalar last year in goal scoring (in the league havent bothered with cups) which is the main point of a striker. They paly different roles but lets add up their pros and cons. Lambert is a great target man Barnard can play this role but not as well. Lambert is also better in the air although Barnard isn't too bad. Lambert also has set plays as and advantadge. Lambert is good at bringing others into play as is Barnard although this isnt really his role soo much when he plays. Barnard is more of a poacher than Lambo, he is far more mobile and excellent at closing down and applying pressure he also has great movement which is why I think the two of them compliment eachother soo well as they have lots of different atributes together. However this is my opinion you may disagree but last season I thought they where on a similar level.

Actually Lambert had 8 league goals last season as penalties so without penalties Barnard was our top scorer last season, interesting?

I like Barney and he's been great for us.....but imo with his injuries and more worryingly his pending court trial I don't think we'll see too much of him in the future. Hope I'm wrong and he gets the chance to prove he can perform at a higher level.

I agree you don't know if a player can perform at the next level unless they have a go. Look at Holt and Morrison both scoring goals in the premier.
