After the drama of the last game, and hearing Lamberts contrastingly taciturn response next to Warnock's rambling spiel, i couldn't help thinking how lucky we are to have a manager who knows that the results on the pitch are what matter most, and as such when he talks it is to praise or commiserate with the players who get them, nothing more.

My favourite moment of pure Lambertism has to be from last August in an interview with the Guardian.

'What, then, are his emotions ahead of Norwich's return to the top tier after six years' absence? "Nothing. None. It's just the same." Is he not a little nervous? "No. I'm not nervous. Not at all."

It was Lambert's birthday earlier this week [he is 42]. Did he celebrate it? "No, I'm not one of those people who are bothered what age they are."

Perhaps, though, he might yet celebrate if Norwich get off on the right foot on Saturday? "No. There's another nine months to go."

A nightmare for journalists, but a man who knows whats important, even to the point of ignoring birthdays!

Welcome to Not606 Battersea and what a baptism you had

I simply admire Paul Lambert as week in and week out he goes about his business quietly and normally effectively, as you say opposed to someone such as Neil Warnock and even to a point Mick McCarthy - although I do find both of them pretty entertaining most of the time but normally for different reasons.

We are so lucky to have PL and need to enjoy it while he is ours

I remember when we got promoted at Pompy, the place went mental and he didn`t even crack a smile... He seemed completely emotionless, he is one very very cool customer... Paul Lambert has the potential to be one of the all time greatest managers........ We love him..

I like his realism that he probably has a sell by date and at some time the singing might change from One Paul Lambert to Lambert Out. But there would be no hard feelings from him because thats what its all about-the players and supporters.

I thought he looked a bit uptight after the QPR game, and in his interview even less forthcoming than normal. Maybe just the stress over the Christmas period -- I hope so anyway.

"If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And - which is more - you'll be a Man(ager?), my son!"

    Lambert is Kipling's 'If', FACT!

my favourite lambertism, which i have heard at least twice, is, when talking of the players his response is " they are a great bunch to work FOR ". this kind of thing is what makes the players work extra hard for him and is a true measure of the man.

The time he spent in Germany was vital as that is where he lost his sense of humour, what is it about Norwich leaders and javing an extremely poor sense of humour Dave?<yikes>

I heard him being interviewed on Radio Norfolk a couple of weeks ago. The journalist asked him about James Vaughn and passed comment about him being out in America. As quick as a shot Lambert came back with a suspicious: "Where d'ya hear that". The journalist sheepishly replied that Vaughn had written it on twitter!

He leaves people like colin to make fools of themselves during interviews!

He is more likely to leave for a bigger club before we get a chance to chant Lambert out. I would not be hugely surprised if he left at the end of the season if we stay up. I for one would not hate him for that. He has worked miracles, without him I strongly believe we would still be a league one side, or at best lower end of the championship. I will always be eternally grateful for the good times he has given us.

Grant Holt of course deserves a lot of credit too!

Lambert is going places, I reckon he will end up managing an Arsenal or Man United one day.
