remember buckle telling us to lower our expectations?? then saying remit was 10th place finish?? higgs now tells us.... you work it out. higgs would of set up a goal with buckle. buckle would of known higgs wants promotion. buckle then tells us fans to lower expectations as we were struggling between 12th - 15th at the time. what message does that gives us fans and more importantly the players. higgs, i congratulate you in making the right decision today. however, buckle should of been sacked ages ago. like when he moved the goal post so to speak.
Higgs was just on Radio Bristol he's in Italy at the moment, bless. He seemed disapointed that he had to sack Buckle and that they remain friends also said that the phones already been ringing from managers who are interested in the job.
Higgs shouldn't have appointed ****le in the first place. This club is crying out for an experienced manager who can steady the ship and steer us into calmer waters after the maelstrom of the past year.
I disagree in part BB. I think the board made a brave decision appointing an up and coming manager and the truth is during pre season we all thought he was going to do good things. He did well at Torquay and the step up to a bigger club should have been the making of him. I do agree that the next manager needs to be experienced but if the board want to be brave and show long term ambition I like what Mark Yates is doing at Cheltenham. We'll probably end up with fatty Johnson Ooops I ment super Gary Johnson
"said that the phones already been ringing from managers who are interested in the job" Where have I heard this before?? Impressive list of candidates etc etc we ended up with Penney, and then Buckle lol. I would rather Higgs stayed away from the appointment of a new manager and let someone else advise him or do it for him!
I think we all thought that Buckle could make a go of it. Pre and early season looked good, he said the right things and he signed, what appeared to be at the time, some good players. However, with the wonderful thing that is hindsight, we really needed someone experienced to rebuild the playing side of the club. I hope we'll get someone like that now. Wouldn't mind Lenny back to be honest.
Would LOVE Lenny back, but I dont think he would come back. Reid would be nice, with his experience and good contacts in the game...Jones would be nice, but doubt he would come, and I like the experience Johnson has, but he wouldn't last 5 mins with the boo boys if it goes tits up
no more betting micky adams port vale, he wants out of there. they are in financial doo doo as distinct from lower league doo doo. watch this space. may not be but he is one of my favourites for the job
