...Man City qualify for the UEFA Champions League and also win the UEFA Europa League, would this offer another Europa League spot to the next highest finishers in the EPL? This was suggested on another thread and got me thinking

I've tried looking into it and could only find the Liverpool thing in 2005/06 when they failed to qualify for UCL via the league in 2004/05 season but were entered into the UCL as the holders. There was no rule clarifying what should happen so UEFA allowed 5 english teams into the UCL, 2 automatic and 3 qualifiers. After this happened though, UEFA then made a rule that if this happened again the club that finished 4th would lose out and be entered into the Europa League instead thus causing a domino affect to those below.

But this is slightly different to the above, surely if City qualify for the UCL and finish at least 4th in the EPL this should offer the "holders eligibility" to enter next years Europa League to the next highest league position.

So 6th and 7th is possible if City do the above and two of Arsenal/ManU/ManC reach the FA Cup Final.

Right or wrong?

there is a precident check out sevilla in the 06/07 season they finished 3rd in la liga having won the uefa cup, cant be arsed to find out what happened, too late

I suppose none of us are hoping to get lucky in the fair play league? :P

Wouldn't the loser in the final get the spot, instead of city?
I wouldn't mind seeing a Liverpool Vs City final, with City winning it.
