Take a breath guys we got lucky there, i was getting a bit gloomy about our inability to keep a clean sheet thus far and it`s apparent we need a rock.
All great sides have a Tony Adams, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Puyol, A Cannavaro in the team to organise the defence and shut up shop in tight games, we certainly do not....
I am more than happy with the team and our defence has played well, i wouldn`t dare criticise them for the effort they have given....
Just please can we break the bank and sign a real quality CB in January and we will stay up in my opinion....
Who we should sign ? I really don`t know ,but a big strong Italian or Dutch CB to lead our back 4 would complete a very good Norwich side........

I can't think of many CB's who would be realistic targets though to be fair. I really wanted us to break the bank for Scott Dann in the summer and he hasn't exactly set the world alight at Blackburn.

I am amazed he doesnt get a game at chelsea, i think he is miles better than david luiz for a start!

Look at wolves, they spent £7mil on roger johnson, and b'burn spent £5mil on scott dann and neither have been great to say the least.

I think the showing from young dani ayala today showed great promise and being honest our defence have improved the last 3 or so games. Not silly mistakes or gifting goals away.

We need a clean sheet soon, every time the commentators mention it i feel less assured of survival.... A few 1 zero wins would be fantastic in 2012... We have still only won 1 of our last 30 odd away games too. 2 horrible stats........OTBC.
 
I would think Birmingham would make the playoffs now they don,t have the Europa league to contend with. And Johnson and Dann haven't set the world alight.
 
Sorry, but what exactly would Cannavaro, Terry, Adams or even Bobby Moore have done to stop that goal yesterday?
 
agree with munky. only a brilliant strike prevented us from a clean sheet yesterday. i think some people look for a solution to a problem without thinking about where the problem emanates from and for me the problem with our lack of clean sheets is actually because of the lack of support from midfield more often than not
 
Sometimes (actually quite often) we have to just accept that strikers in the premiership are going to produce moments of brilliance that no defender on the planet would be able to do very much about. There are some proper world class players knocking about in this league, it's tough at the top and sometimes we have to just accept that.

I thought both Zak and Ayala played well yesterday and hopefully both can stay fit as I think they could be a very decent partnership indeed if they get a good run of games together. Not sure who people are suggesting that we bring in who would be better than what we've got without spending crazy money - which Lambert has already said we're not going to do.
 
Cos we didn't win away atall last time in the prem. I think thats what he was getting at kenny <ok>

I don't think we need any more defenders, they are all capable of there job. There just up against very very good opposition most weeks and its a tough job to keep out teams in this league.

It's a bit of a daft comparison then really when you consider the only person still at the club from last time is Drury and he has only started once this season (and that was at home!). May as well be a different club!

Not really we have a terrible away prem record, we need to win a few away games.....................
