For those of you that saw his soccer am interview, what do you reckon? I still don't trust the bloke, but he could be like a new signing if both parties can work things out. Thoughts?
We don't actually have any reason to hate him beyond twitter rumours and equally unreliable sources... if he wants to come back and Adkins + co are happy to let him come back then I'll be all for it. Won't work though, too many of the crowd will boo him for whatever reason.
He seems like a nice bloke but which is fair enough, but I still that feeling where I just cant trust him, if that makes any sense.
No they wont. They are all too busy booing poor old Guly and the blokes behind me have now turned on poor old Fox as well. I just do not get it with some of our fans.
Some people are just not happy unless they have some-one to have a go out. If it wasn't Guly or Fox it would be some-one else.
If I was Puncheon I would look at our league position, consider the possibilty of promotion with Saints and, when he gets back from QPR, which I would imagine will be any day now, I would knock on Adkin's door, go in and say "look I've been a twat, give me one more chance" and take it from there. Personally I would get rid but IF he was prepared to knuckle down then who knows ?
I don't even rate him and I think all of Lallana, Chaplow, De Ridder and Holmes would be above him in the pecking order even if he stayed.
He proved with Millwall he can be a decent player in this league. As I and others have mentioned though, it won't work out because he will just get booed by sections of the fans. Personally, unless there is a nailed on reason why, I would never boo one of our players while they are on the pitch.
Have never booed a player in my life. No one is rubbish deliberately...if consistently poor it's up to the manager to sort out or ship out.
Afternoon all, If im honest, i didnt know who this guy was before i watched soccer AM. The bloke looks like a total cock, he has zero enthusiasm and i wouldnt trust him no further than i can throw him! Just from seeing him for a couple of hours, this guy has a serious attitude problem, i can see why he is so hated!!
Can understand some idiots getting on Gulys back as his quality is not always obvious and a lot of fans are unfortunately brain dead, but Fox? What the hell is with that, I am a big Fox fan and am so much happier with him playing left back than when Harding was there!
Holmes? Holmes?!! Don't get me wrong, I quite like the guy, but no way would I have him ahead of Puncheon in the pecking order. De Ridder, I'm not sure about. Seven days ago, I'd have certainly put Puncheon above De Ridder. Absoloutely no question. But in these last two games, De Ridder has looked really, really good. The question though is whether he can continue that form for a long period of time. Form assuming (something we unfortunately cannot be attributed to Lallana right now), Lallana and Chaplow would both be ahead of Puncheon, yes.
Nothing wrong with Jason. except for his attitude. NA believes- rightly in my mind - that the team is bigger than the individual, and JP has form in this regard. However, what would Jason bring to the team that is not already there? Unless you want back up for de Ridder. More to the point, I think we still need cover for Rickie, and also Chaplow. And what about cover for Kelvin ? (Sorry Bart, but I dont think your future lies with Saints anymore).
Some people don't like Holmes but I rate him as a decent player and I think he's better than Puncheon. He may not be the quickest or most exciting winger but he can deliver a great ball in.
I'd be willing to give him another chance, but I don't think Nicola and Nigel would - particularly the first.
