Ahhhh yes, the collective jerking of Sotonian knees. Just wanted to say I'm proud of you all for having perspective and not predicting doom and gloom after one disagreeable result. Happy New Year babes xx
I think there was enough on show tonight not to be too disappointed (unlike the game away to Donny - the low point this year). I think people have got a little bit more realistic we are not going to steamroller the league but we have had a great year and should be proud of what the club has achieved. I remember just over a year ago going to the Galpharm and wondering just where we were heading; 15 th in the league and battered by Huddersfield that day. Happy New Year and a typical Saints end to a terrific year .
I tend to get frustrated at the game and then on the walk back to the car i sort of get my senses back and look at the overall picture and realise we've been spoilt this year. Can't be too downhearted,we're still top of the league and the January transfer window is opening up,it's exciting times! COYR!!!!!!!!!!!
I must admit I'm surprised too. Very disappointed with the tossers in the ground who chose to boo the team off, but thankfully this was a minority. Hoping 2012 will be just as much fun as 2011.
I just think some people have got so used to us winning they get on the players backs the minute anything goes wrong. There was a guy next to me who spent over an hour shouting about 'how sh*te' Guly was. Still it wouldn't be the Saints way to do anything easily, however we are in a great position still and a few new signings could breath new life into us.
Good, thanks people. I was afraid there would be too much negativity on here this morning. As you say, what a fantastic year to be a Saints fan! Has there ever been a better one? Or looking at it a different way, has any team in the whole of England had a better year than Southampton?
If we win 11 of our remaining 22 games we will have 80 points. Add one more victory and a few draws along with 7/8 defeats and we will still be in contention.
West Ham have a few problems with suspension and injuries, could Derby actually do us a favour today? I cannot see Middlesbrough or Cardiff blowing it today, so it could get well interesting in the New Year.
