People are saying that we are going to offer 500k plus puncheon. No way will blackpool accept that. he is a young player and has a good future ahead of him. Scoring a hat trick the other week is only going to increase value. i reckon it will be more like 2.5m plus puncheon.
No way would it be as high as 2.50 million + Punch, Phillips is a decent player, but think those are his first goals in ages. I personally would love it if we signed him, or if punch has his head right he could be valuable asset for us......
It could well be that much, Blackpool know Puncheon is sort of a toxic asset here. Plus Phillips is only 21 and has massive potential. In football potential is seen as a bigger thing then a player totally at his peak, so Phillips will be around 2mil + Puncheon in my opinion.
Phillips isn't nearly proven enough to be worth that, I'd rather not, as good as he is looking so far.
Must admit, thought Phillips looked quite useful when Blackpool came to town, and Holloway is a big admirer of Punch!
I would do it, there were quotes them wanting 5 mil. If we managered to get rid of Puncheon and pay half as much cash it's a good deal.
Phillips would complete our inpact subs, but I don't think he'd start so he's not worth it. We need players that are going to start, why improve our bench when our 1st team isn't as strong as it could be?
We need a winger simple as that, when both Lallana and Chappers are fit obv they would be first choice atm. But when they aren't fit we lack width badly. It's not just about improving our first team it's about having a good solid squad, which injuries have showed we haven't. Also who know's he could turn out to be better then Chappers on the right. He is the sort of player Saints should be looking at young, talented and has a fair amount of pace.
He'll be incredibly expensive, he's the blackpool equivalent of chamberlain admittedly not of equal ability but of equal worth to blackpool as chambo was for us wouldn't be surprised to see as much as 10 mil cast for his head, its just the way football is these days.
Your right, Phillips is an excellent player who would only get better in our environment. Would be delighted if we got him but it will take a lot of money to prise him away from Blackpool.
