Didn't Warnock say 'no striker in January' yesterday?

To the question in hand, if Jelavic has a bad game then Rangers probably won't win that game - they are that reliant on him. Given the fees being banded about in the EPL he would be a relatively good value signing for any club.

Ok fair enough, as I said £8m is the price of a squad player in the Premier League these days and I think he might be a bit better than a squad player, but you never know until you test him in a higher league. I'd certainly judge him to be no less than a squad player.

Apparently, McCoist was informed of the impending QPR bid in the run up to last night's game.

I have to disagree with Mick though. I think he's completely over-rated. Rangers paid £4m for him and I don't think he's done anything to increase that value.

I disagree (well on the overrated part)

I think he is a top player

Not world class - wont be one of the best in the EPl, but at a club like QPR he is capable of scoring 10/15 goals in a season - not bad for a striker at a club who have scored only 17 thus far.

He'll never play for a top team though - not good enough for that in my opinion. One of the best in the SPL though

Probably not worth £8m - but English teams pay silly money for worse players - so Rangers should be holding out for at least that much

Why? What's he done to justify the hype? Scored nearly a goal per game like Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd? Have his goals helped Rangers go far in Europe?

A striker rated at £8m should be scoring goals for fun in the SPL.
