Echo and the press

With the rumour mill in overdrive and the transfer window imminent do we think Nicola should make peace with the press to avoid any unsettling press coverage?

The squad are together as one! and we don't want that put at risk.

I don't think the press would want that. If there is no fued then there is no sensationalism and that is what sells papers.

The one big advantage of The Don not talking to the press is that any story that is printed is pure supposition & a figment of the journo's imagination

Newspapers are finished and the Echo is in it's dying throes.

They are yesterday's News and our Nicola knows it.

Why buy the Echo when I can be better, more speedily and more acurately informed using other sources. I don't even bother to look at their website. Their news is usaully inaccurate, out of date and very poorly reported. Punctuation, spelling and grammar are not the Echo's strong points and their poor use of the Queen's English borders on the criminal.

The Echo as a local newspaper is a disgrace and a shame on our city.

PS I don't like it much and I never have.

The thing about the 'other sources' is that whilst you can get accurate and up to date info, you can also get misinformed quicker as well. Many people don't engage brain first and, not having the advantage of time to think and edit, put complete rubbish out into the ether. Not suggesting we can put the genie back into the bottle, but there will always be room for well thought out and considered articles (not necessarily including the Echo in that ).

Indeed, up our end here in the Narth, Our local Rag (similar to yours) The Lincolnshire Echo has had to go weekly rather than daily cos no-one wanted to read bout the 'not news' it constantly printed.............especially when they could read the same 'not news' for free on the interweb thingamy
