To be honest I was in such a rush to post it I missed out the credit and the link, when I went to edit it my computer shut down so I had to reboot before I could include the details.
Everything I've read clearly says he wasn't involved and was walked away after quiet drink with parents. Move along please, nothing to see here.
Strange place to take the family for a quiet drink Typical of our "locals" to instead of welcoming visitors to be hostile to them. Probably the only city in the country where the best player for the local team would get hassle. Not saying Lamberts family were without blame and may have been a bit loud, as scousers can certainly be at times. Sort of sums up why many people don't go to pubs anymore and why so many locals are shutting down. The fewer the pubs, the more the pissheads and nutters congregate in the ones that are left and "claim them" as their own.
It seems Ricky used his great positional sense and kept out of the way if so fair play to him in the wake of Barney and Seabornes lets say misfortune when out and about.
Thanks for that. I think if you read the paper this morning you will find i wasnt making things up! I heard a rumour, and asked a question as last thing we needed! Just glad Rickie didnt seem to be involved. No real need for me to be kicked off this site just yet though ?!?!?!?!?!?!
i used to live in baddesley and regularly visit that pub years ago, wasnt too bad but certainly wouldnt choose to take my family there for a night out!!!
Strewth we have a lot of holier than thoughs around at the moment. We also have a few rumour mongers amongst us to boot!!! Lets just calm down a bit and stop making more out of something that nobody has a clue about. Talk about Chinese bloody whispers!!! When someone has something concrete to tell us and a link maybe then we will have an idea or two as to what went down and if it actually is our own Ricky Lambert they are talking about. In the mean time there is no need to exaggerate or speculate is there!!!! Give me bloody strength....
if you note from my oroginal thread, i was purely asking the question as somene who i know lives in the area heard about this fight. i only asked a question as couldnt find what went on. if you care to read the paper this am you will find it was a fair question as obviously it was our lambert in there and sadly his family were caught up in an incident. I am just glad he wasnt involved. Think bit harsh i have been criticised for starting a thread asking if anyone heard!! especially when some of the transfer totally unfounded rumours appear on here every other day!!
lambert WAS there, but NOT involved in the fight http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9440499.Mass_brawl_at_Rickie_Lambert_s_local_pub/
So pleased he wasnt involved, being a saints fan we always seem ready for a fall!!!! Good old Lambo, getting ushered out the back door, just hope he wanders up to the chilworth arms the next time he fancies a pint!!
Can't let CBKs comment about scousers being loud go without response. Ask a scouser and they'll talk about loud bleedin' southerners! A big problem is that "foreign" accents always stand out. You then add a knobend who takes exception to the equation and hey presto. Proof that the aforesaid knobends can pop up anywhere. Totally agree with your analysis of the pub problem though.
Stop being so sensitive.....not all are criticising you for asking the question as far as I can see and my opening statement cuts across their bows...........My only criticism is the people replying what it is with out actually knowing and then adding a bit more to spice it up. We have a few exaggerators out there it is true and we do have more than our share of unfounded rumour mongers as well!
i'll get me coat, saw your comment and assumed you wanted me kicked off the site which going by 90% of the threads on here got my back up lol. People will always add things they "know" on these sites. I heard all sorts last night, even heard a ridiculous rumour that lambert used a pool cue which i thought was absurd! Hence i didnt mention that. Anyway, he wasnt caught up in it, just hope he chooses other pubs from now on!!!
Ah, so it was The Baddesley Arms, not The Bedes Lea (so not my local then). Makes a lot more sense now. There seems to be a fight in there every other week. God knows why Rickie chose it over the Bedes Lea though (they're pretty much the same distance's walk from his house, just in opposite directions, and I've never had any trouble in the Bedes).
Nice to see the Echo run an article that isn't trying to destroy the club. I fully expected a sensationalist account of how he impaled a guy on a pool cue and stubbed out a cigar in his eye.
