Followed up with "@sorrellh I should add that I've got no proof or anything, it's just doing the rounds. Very much hoping it's not true."
"@sorrellh I should add that I've got no proof or anything, it's just doing the rounds. Very much hoping it's not true." ------------------------------------------ Doing the rounds, so its my obligation to pass it on, make it bigger, I work in the media, look at my name. But, I hope its not true. I love the internet!
Chris told me that he's only going by what the forums have said too, he doesn't know any inside info.
As I do with many things I'm going to blame SB3 for creating multiple account on multiple forums claiming he was a 'victim/witness'
Does anyone? That's some pretty irresponsible journalism. If no one can provide some information at least a little closer to the original source, rather than just unreliable people who heard it from other unreliable people, then I think it's best to just disregard this rumour if it's not in the news tomorrow morning.
Kind of hoping it's bullsh*t from this story: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20556761,00.html
There's been some idiot spouting rubbish on the Pompey board as well t the moment (supposedly a Saints fan)... And SB3 hasn't been seen since before the derby match... All gone quiet... In my thing at the bottom is a genuine quote from SB3, quite funny knowing what he's like now
A few people on SaintsWeb said they saw Echo photographers around the pub this morning. Not had any witness stories pop up though.
Star bar brawl Rickie Lambert’s pals in pub brawl By NEIL SYSON Published: Today SOCCER striker Rickie Lambert was caught in a mass pub brawl after table-topping Southampton's Boxing Day win. The Championship's leading scorer, 29, was celebrating with 20 family and friends — including his mum and dad — who had travelled from his native Liverpool. But police were called when a landlady was left flailing in a Christmas tree, a car was vandalised and a barmaid was struck by a pool cue. The trouble flared after one local quipped that Lambert would be out for six months because of the lager he was drinking. Another had difficulty understanding the group's Liverpool accents. One customer said: "Everyone bundled in. There was a massive heap on the floor. It seemed to be Scousers versus the locals." A source close to Lambert said: "Rickie did not get involved in any violence. He was just trying to get his family outside." Landlady Dee Fleming, 55, said the footballer's group had been toasting a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Baddesley Arms, Southampton, from 6pm to 11.15pm when the fight started. She said: "Rickie's brother-in-law got punched and was bleeding. His dad, who's in his 50s, was knocked down by a punch to the head." Police confirmed they went to the pub but made no arrests.
