Evening lads, had an account here for a while, but haven't posted an article, just welcoming myself - hope you are all well.

Now, after the start we've had, and seeing as we are near enough half way through the season, would a 10th finish as mentioned by Llambias as a mininum a few weeks ago be sufficient enough for most of us supporters?

Taking into account our current position and performances, am i alone in thinking we should, and possibly have a good crack at 6th-7th place?

I'd be content with 10th place, happy with 7th, 8th or 9th and ecstatic with 6 or above!

I think we can realistically achieve 7th at least, but then again, this is Newcastle. We'll probably go on another winless run and drop to 17th <diva>

7th place is my personal target, but still to early I'd say to determine where we'll finish.

It is kind of depressing to think we could have been 5th now If we hadn't have gotten our injuries. Arsenal only 3pts ahead of us, even after our no win in 6.

Yeah i know what you mean with regards to being so close to the top 4, but then again, we are still in stead for a very good season, 5 points clear of 8th and even more so from 9th.

Would be more than happy with 10th. However after our phenomenal start to the season I would hope we could push a few places up. 7th is a very realistic target in my mind!!

Yes but our next two games are Liverpool and Manure, Stokes are Wigan and Blackburn.

We could lose our 7th place spot. :S

I must say after the start we've had I'd be gutted with any bottom half finish, I think by the end of the season we will end up anywhere from 8th to 10th providing we dont get any Steven Taylor-esque injuries between now and the end of the season.

I think it could be as high as 6th at a push if we can manage to bring in some quality and not lose anyone in January.

10th would represent a successful season following our 12th place last year, but we can target as high as 6th IMO. Liverpool are the main contenders for 6th but without Suarez and Lucas they are without their two best players and we can run them all the way, if January goes to plan.

On target for 7th right now, which would likely get us into Europe, currently 5 points clear of 8th which is very cosy.

I feel like i'd be disapointed with anything less than 7th after this first half of the season but i said i'd be happy with top 10 and signs of progress in style of football so yeah top 10 wouldn't be a disaster. FA cup run would be nice as well

I think I could give a fair prediction after the transfer window as at the moment many question are being asked.

How will we cope without Ba?
Will we get another striker to replace him in January?
Can we keep hold of our key players?

If we do cope without Ba , keep all our key players and strengthen in some areas , which includes getting another striker , then 6th is well within our reach. But as has been said , 7-8-9-10th position would still be classified as a very respectable achievement.

I'm gonna aim for 7th, because I can't see who else is really so deserving of being above us. All the teams currently above us, imo, should really be there because they do have better squads, but below that, it's all for the taking.

Who else could it be to take the spot we're in now? Stoke? Villa? Everton? They have some good players and can do the business, but if we strengthen in January there's no reason why we can't keep above them, there really isn't.

Stoke, who just drew at home to Villa, have away to Blackburn which will not be easy and at home to a Wigan side who have won two on the trot away from home before the Man Utd game where they were playing well until they went down to ten men. It is by far an easy game!

7th-9th is probably the target. bit disappointed but still content with 10th (judging by recent games), ecstatic with 7th or above (which, in all honesty, i can't see happening)
