Manchester airport attack on coppers, sentenced to 3.5 years prison.

Reading a statement during Amaaz's sentencing hearing at Liverpool Crown Court, Ms Ward said: "You chose to attack a female. You knocked me to the ground with one punch, with so much force you broke my nose.

"How would you feel if a male did that to your mother? How would you feel if it was your mother standing here today explaining how she was violently assaulted by a male?

"What you did was cowardly."

Ms Ward said: "What angers me is that afterwards, when only part of the footage was out in the public, you played the victim.

"You are not a victim. I am the one who was injured, not you. You had the whole world listening to you and you showed no remorse. Not one ounce.

"You allowed the public to feel sorry for you. You made out like we had done something wrong when all we were doing was our job."

Lucky boy. Should have been shot as he would have been in a serious country but he’s done well to get that presumably minus time served and will get a chunk knocked off.

One thing I hadn’t thought about until skimming this. The stamp by the copper was shared and went viral quickly and a few days before the longer clip. Not many people had access to that footage so somebody has made the decision to share the stamp and create the rhetoric that was later disproved.

Very lucky, tbph he should be dead, and I say that quite openly, because I always assumed if you ever attacked armed officers there is only going to be one outcome. People seem to expect more from our police these days, explanations, why, what, when, where in my life, my world, if you kicked off in an airport, there would be no explanation, there would be no restraint shown by the officers. I foolishly gave the defendents benefit of doubt at the time, ie someone had racially abused their mother but that's because I try and see reason behind the madness, but clearly I was wrong and these two shouldn't even still be breathing for what they did, put another way I wouldn't have expected to still be breathing after doing that to a female, let alone a copper in an airport.

And that’s before you consider the saving to the taxpayer from putting a bullet in his head in these tough economic times.

I do wonder sometimes where the public are in all this, why people didn't intervene to help calm the situation, a few guys help restrain the guy lashing out. Although I have seen via media a couple of public interventions this week, so there are still people willing to do their bit - especially when we have so many young women as coppers these days.

Just been on a six hour flight and I’ve got an Uber waiting and we’re having Chinese for dinner because there’s **** all in the fridge and the plane food was ****. Couldn't be arsed.

Uber makes us lazy. Everytime I go to my lads and if we go out drinking, always getting an uber, he's like it will be here in 2 mins lol. These guys like normal cab drivers going to be ****ed when driverless taxis' take over.

Yeah but for now they’re great. I do feel for the old school cabbies but anyone who doesn’t think it’s a phenomenal innovation is lying to themselves. Was such a ballache when you’d have to ring round minicab firms and Sandra at AAA Taxis would tell you the bloke can be there in about six hours.

Going back to my youth, cabbies use to drive around with no insurance, dodgy as **** cars, and yes queue in the cab office to get a ride home. Just tidying up that act was a start, not talking black cabs though. Local authorities started legislating them all, which was long over due at the time.

ah i remember those days when the taxi would be here in 5 mins about 8 times and then you get into a car which looks dodgy as **** driven by someone whose ideal line round a corner is kissing the apex and not worrying someone might be coming the other way

You do get the odd criminal story still but the risk to women with Ubers compared to before must be lower. Especially when you’d pile out of a nightclub and people just jumped in any ****’s car even though they had to be legally pre-ordered. They seem to let anyone use someone else’s ID for deliveries but think they’re quite hot on not allowing that for driving.
