cannot get my head round Scotland ATM finishing on 3 points gd -2 and still having a strong chance of qualifying. Absolute ****ing bull ****
What do they base these percentages on? I've never heard of it before,is it computer number crunching or something? Before the match they thought that -3 had a 50% chance of going through
they will work out the likely resultsWhat do they base these percentages on? I've never heard of it before,is it computer number crunching or something?
It's actually turned the tournament into a farce and it's probably here to stay. They're sucking the life out of the game !!If they didn’t have 48 teams to make this stupid format they probably wouldn’t have even got 3 points. In fact they probably wouldn’t be in the tournament whatsoever.

I have been impressed by the quality of football even by the 'lesser' teams - but the number of games is ridiculousIf they didn’t have 48 teams to make this stupid format they probably wouldn’t have even got 3 points. In fact they probably wouldn’t be in the tournament whatsoever.
to be more explanatory:they will work out the likely results
but they are just educated guesses
MAR for Morocco??
they should be consistent then and either call the country Maroc or have the abbreviation MOR if they are using the English name! Why is Morocco abbreviated to MAR?
If you’ve watched Morocco play football on TV then you may have noticed they have a different abbreviation to what you’d think it would be.
FIFA assigns each member country a unique three-letter country code, and these codes are used to refer to the countries during official competitions.
The country goes as MAR and not MOR – which many would expect.
This is due to the French influence in the country, despite the official languages of the country are Arabic and Berber.
The French word for Morocco is Maroc – and the abbreviation MAR of this which is why it is used for sporting events and as the official country code

another, perhaps better, way would have been to have eight groups of six and send the top two or top four into the knockout round, a bit more like the qualifiers. that would mean 15 games in each group instead of six, with each playing five times instead of three. If they didn’t have 48 teams to make this stupid format they probably wouldn’t have even got 3 points. but scotland are ranked 42, not far from the top 32. they got put in a group with two teams ranked in the top 7, and were there because they got through the qualifying rounds. italy, denmark, poland, sweden, russia, wales, nigeria, all ranked higher, all missed out. don't think you'd be complaining if north ferriby made the fa cup quarter finals. you've only to think back to 2008 and the reaction of the snobby bastards in the media saying hull city had no place in the premier league.
