Dont be ridiculousAdd the Iranian keeper to the wanted list.
Really?Leeds also close to getting Harry Wilson on a free...
Partly right. Some of the original cost will have already been written off.Regarding this £6m PSR shortfall, that’s actually a net figure. So say we sell Joseph for £6m it would only knock £3.5m off the ‘debt’ as the £2.5m we paid for him wouldn’t count towards it.
Apologies to Kalman in that case. Talk of Giles going for £4m after we paid that for him still would make no sense PSR wise.Party right. Some of the original cost will have already been written off.
So profit is selling price less purchase price add amortisation to date.
Should have read more of the thread as Kalman points this out better than I did
I dont think getting rid of Giles makes any sense unless its a stupid offer, over £10m but that's not going to happenApologies to Kalman in that case. Talk of Giles going for £4m after we paid that for him still would make no sense PSR wise.
Hes 30Really?
After the season he had i thought hex be going to a bigger/better club not stepping down.
Im not up on other teams squads but thought maybe to a team playing Europa League or Confrence LeagueHes 30
Best ever season
Hes miles off the top level players
Not really anywhere he can go
2 players evenly matched competing wouldn't be a bad thing. If we do buy tymon I'd want a net profit on losing Giles otherwise it's too sideways.
Humans werent around during the jurassic period
Did the sound exist if no ones around to hear it?
The old napoleon proverb
Whilst we apparently need to sell to cover the shortfall I can not fathom why any club would want to buy this month for the opposite reasoning.
Unless it’s a mega discount fire sale.
Thought I saw Baz suggesting some movement next week?Just over a week left until the deadline and we haven’t seen any outgoings yet. Unless the deals are close behind the scenes and are due to be announced next week, I’m a little concerned we might not make up this £6 million PSR deficit before the end of the month.
I imagine it being like the scenes in Moneyball where Billy Beane calls general managers to trade certain players but it has to be done ASAP and without too many questions.Whilst we apparently need to sell to cover the shortfall I can not fathom why any club would want to buy this month for the opposite reasoning.
Unless it’s a mega discount fire sale.
Joseph arguably yes, though probably worth less and a question mark over how he’ll return from his injury. Crooks definitely not - he’s been a revelation for us, but is approaching the end of his career and isn’t going to increase in value. You could say the same for Joseph and Crooks.
I think Hughes’ defending has improved slightly under the current coaching staff compared to the 2024/25 season. I think Hughes’ defending is similar to Greaves’ in the 2022/23 season. There are still some kinks to iron out in his game but he’s a very talented player. Hughes is already a better ball-playing centre-back than Greaves ever was and ever will be. I will say though that we’ve seen less of Hughes’ ball-playing abilities under Jakirović due to the way we played for most of the season. We tend to go long from goal kicks rather than play out from the back and the centre-backs see less of the ball than they did under Rosenior and Walter. So the consensus is tha Giles has improved under the guidance of the current coaching staff.
I think Egan is more solid also.
Has Hughes improved under their tutelage?
I’m not sure he has.
Thoughts.
