"Opened discussions for Fernandez-Pardo". I get they need headlines but this one feels like it'll go the exact same way as the last one. And the multiple ones before that.

Like last summer they can only try, but the fall back options were significant. This guy is a Man United target, so we'll get trumped.

Actually Elanga wasn't even a fall back option...

Isn't he going to cost significantly more than the Spanish fella who we haggled over?
Haggled successfully on price. So the Club get hammered for successfully negotiating a lower price.

It's reported that Munoz had two Agents working for him and the second one was dealing with LiVARpool who were always sitting in the background.

If we hadn't have haggled over the space of a week there may have been a chance we'd have signed him. We'll never know but not everything you read on here is a criticism of the club. Just pointing things out.

Unfortunately people don't understand that it's not a case of just offering the selling club a fee and then taking a human being off them, like they're a tin of soup on a shelf.

Liverpool were always there and nothing Newcastle did would have made any difference.

I'll be honest I've never heard of the majority of players we're linked to these days. Don't watch foreign leagues that much.

90% of the people crying had probably never heard of Munoz. It's the being trumped they don't like.. They can't take the banter I guess.

I couldn't give a **** about other clubs fans laughing at us, because I'd do the same.

We'll have our time to laugh soon enough...

Staveley took some **** while at Newcastle.. I bet it'll be fine if she gets west ham a good buyer.

Maybe she’s learned that dealing with the cartel is significantly harder than grabbing a club in the efl. West Ham would be a cracking purchase. Bit of money chucked at that stadium and they could be huge, they’ve already got an excellent youth and training set up.

Or LiVARpool would have bought him one week sooner.

Reported that we had agreed a fee with the Club. Also agreed terms with player. Also agreed Agents fees. Player had said he was coming.

Then we're told to wait 24 hours when we were trying to organise medical. No, for me, we were played by Player or Agents or both to force LiVARpool to act.

Surely nobody can seriously believe we were at fault at least in terms of the players preferred destination? Liverpool and Iraola wanted him, no timings will make a blind bit of difference. And if recent reports with players like Palestra or F-P are true we’ve learned absolutely ****ing nothing. Same **** different day.

I might be speaking for myself but my particular frustration is we’re doing the exact same ****ing things we did last summer, because we’re under the exact same ****ing manager. It might turn out far different but the whole club feels like it’s absolutely ****ing stuck in a time warp. All the excitement has dried up, all the momentum gone, and we’re seeing the same patterns over and over and over, which is even more concerning because the on the pitch crap Howe served up was the same patterns over and over and over.

We need a shot in the arm and instead we seem to have an enema.

I don't blame us for going for this type of player, quality wise. If you never try you'll never succeed.

Clear we have a chance as he apparently had agreed terms with us.

Just need to hope we can persuade them to stick with us or that richer club doesn't come along.

Keep going for the Brighton approach and you won't hit next level. It's a question of hoping for a Bruno type break or two or we're stuck in the financial rules manipulation engineered by the Greedy Six

But then you’ve got Rayan, we had the money, we liked the player but for some reason - probably Howe - we didn’t go for it. We dither endlessly and I don’t understand why. Three weeks on Munoz, I’m not saying we’d have got him regardless but why 3 weeks, we also seem incapable of doing more than one deal at a time. I find it impossible to believe nobody at Newcastle thinks any of this is an issue.

This is simply the 1st hijack we'll get this summer, so people need to accept it and see who we eventually get

The excuse that Howe didn't get his first 2nd or 3rd choices last season is always an excuse, because very few clubs gets their preferred targets.

Reporting Newcastle being hijacked when literally every club gets the same is simply something the media like running.

Good... We know their recruitment is absolutely dreadful, and if we can pull their eyes out early in the window, there's less chance they hijack anything we try and do.

the new SCR rules are basically a mirror of UEFA rules except ours penalise clubs in European comps so not really engineered by the supposed greedy 6 particularly as at least 14 of the PL clubs must have voted for them .
