He's a politician. Nothing more and nothing less.

And since when was aspiring to get a better job something to be frowned upon?
Or perhaps career advancement is only for the upper classes.

Granted being PM is a better job than doing things on the internet for money :emoticon-0110-tongu
No it’s not. But Nigel isn’t doing it for the money, as he’s already very rich. He’s doing it to try to save the country he loves.

I’m sure all the above applies to Burnham as well <whistle>

I was referring to the phenomenal number of 'Cameo' internet video appearances where (for money) Mr Farage endorses some rather strange people & events...

Granted it's the leftie woke Grauniad - but I assume they didn't just make the whole thing up.

EDIT:

Anyway, we've drifted off topic somewhat.
I think Starmer will be gone by the end of July - if not sooner.

Is that the best a Goliath like The Guardian can come up with ? Very poor if so.

Anyone who implies that Farage is anti-Semitic really needs their head examined (or perhaps who is paying them to say that examined). Couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact his total support for Israel and lack of condemnation of some of the things they’ve done is a black mark for him for me.

And I’m surprised that you would help to spread that misinformation, considering that you too were falsely accused of being anti-Semitic, without a shred of evidence that you were.

I suppose it feels different when you are the disseminator, rather than the victim of that lie.

Oh well.

I agree that he does not appear to be anti-Semitic but this does expose his lack of judgment with him chasing the cash. A political version of Sam Alladyce?
Anyone’s words can be twisted to show a chosen perceived attitude.

Farage isn’t anti-Semitic and yet someone will use his words in a completely out of context way to claim that he is. It’s just an attempt to discredit him.

And I’d say it’s exactly the same as what happened to Lardi.

Lardi isn’t anti-Semitic and yet someone used his words in a completely out of context way to claim that he was . That was also just an attempt to discredit him.

That’s what I find a bit odd about this being posted on here.

Have to say I agree with him there

Fair enough, but to me the whole thing is just slinging mud and hoping a bit will stick.

It’s from The Guardian for goodness sake, about Nigel Farage. It isn’t going to be balanced or nuanced.

Farage is not anti-Semitic

Farage is not far-right

Farage is not a Nazi

But that doesn’t matter to The Guardian or to the looney left. Say it enough times and someone will believe you, or at least do your bidding by spreading your lies for you.

So the Guardian piece is a fabrication?
Those Cameo videos are fakes?

You’re missing the point

No I'm not.

Unless those videos are fakes, I have done nothing wrong whatsoever.
Now we have a clip showing Mr Farage saluting the IRA, in exchange for a few quid.

Is that video a fake?

If the leader of Reform UK is willing to say stuff like that in exchange for pin money, what won't he say in exchange for £5 million?

Personally I don't believe he really subscribes to any of the things he said on those Cameo videos.
He was just willing to say whatever someone was paying him to say - even really bizarre stuff.
Not a great look for our potential future Prime Minister.

You are.

Where have I said the Guardian piece is a fabrication ?

Where have I said those Cameo videos are fake ?

Where have I said you have done something wrong ?

You have gone down another rabbit hole and are just digging deeper. Turn around and come out.

Yes, we have established that Nigel Farage’s judgement is not always 100% ‘right’.

Yes, we have established that Nigel Farage thinks that there is two-tier policing and two-tier justice in this country.

Yes, we have established that Nigel Farage once made a joke about a woman’s breasts.

But those establishments do not mean that he is anti-Semitic, a Nazi, an anarchist or a Misogynist.

But describing those facts as I have done above rather than as The Guardian has done will not sell many papers or attract much online attention amongst its target audience. Nor will it be picked up by search engine algorithms and be sent to the feeds of such individuals. You need to better understand how modern information is spread to those who have a certain unshakeable opinion which they want to reinforce over and over again.

Everything Nigel Farage said on those Cameo videos are his words.

If he said them simply to earn some money, what does that say about his character?
I would not show support for a rioter, or endorse far-right events, or salute the IRA in exchange for a couple of hundred pounds a time.
The most generous interpretation of these videos is that they show a staggering lack of good judgment.

Yet those videos have not damaged his chances of becoming Prime Minister in 2029.
Presumably because people willing to vote Reform UK are no longer interested in politicians who speak with circumspection.
They want plain talking. And if it's offensive to some, then tough.
The more conventionally bad things Mr Farage is accused of, the more popular he becomes.
As he is perceived as the outsider, challenging the entire creaking old UK Political Establishment.

So by linking to the Guardian article I have actually been promoting Nigel Farage.
Reinforcing the image of him as an outsider, a cheeky jack-the-lad who says a few dodgy things - but hey, don't we all.
There is nothing I could say about him that would harm him in any way.

Back on topic - the future direction of our Government for at least the next three years will be decided in the next 65 minutes.

I wonder when the results will be announced.
Looking forward to seeing Count Binface on the stage with Andy <ok>
