Good news: he didn't say HERE WE GO

Still need counselling after last summer...

If rumours of 3atb are true, this is a great move. Porro just isn't reliable enough defensively to play as a natural FB. Let's not forget he was signed for Conte to be a WB in the first place. The change can play to his strengths. Same for Robbo.

Growing rumours we're in for Sandro Tonali.

Now that's more fecking like it.

Build a billion quid stadium, act like you built a billion quid stadium.

Enough behaving like we get changed in a porta cabin next to a park.

We had the excitement of the MGW transfer last season , done deal according to Romano then it went tits up so I’m not going to get too excited yet regarding Tonali but there’s no doubt the Italian would be an excellent signing.

Plays as that technical 6 that we are craving and so good on the balll and it would be a dream seeing patterns of play between him Van Hecke, Senesi and VDV.

Enic promised us ambition can they walk the walk ?……

Good player, only sticky point is I think he’s quite similar in profile to Bentancur. I think we could do with a more advanced CM playmaker or ball carrier type. Ironically Tonali’s partner at Toon would be ideal in that, or back in again for MGW, do like Alex Scott too and he’s a Spurs fan.

Tonali and Bentancur wouldn’t be a bad pairing by any means though. Arsenal sometimes operate with two deeper CMs and if City bag Anderson, that’s presumably what they’ll be doing too with him and Rodri.

Apparently Spurs are looking at Joel Ordonez as an alternative to Van Hecke.

€45million fee being mentioned as enough for Club Brugge to sell.

I’d obviously prefer van Hecke for a multitude of reasons but this one may be a punt I’d be open to more so than other links to more random players I’ve seen lately. Ecuador seem to be hitting a bit of a golden generation for defensive players, Hincapie’s (unfortunately!) a really good LCB/ LB, Pacho’s been a revelation at PSG, Estupinian’s always been consistent at Brighton and Caicedo is one of Europe’s best tackling CMs. If Ordonez follows suit it wouldn’t be a bad bit of business, be our luck though we get the next Fazio or something.

I tell you what this a brilliant start by Spurs in the transfer window. Robertson, Senesi and Van Hecke all done. 3 excellent signings with prem experience, ability on the ball and leadership qualities.

Plenty of options for RDZ wether it’s a back three or four.

Tonali links are strong and he would be a proper statement signing , Savinho probably likely even though he had his detractors.

Land the two just mentioned a CF and a GK and we are looking strong.

The board promised ambition and after the almighty scare of relegation they have started very well let’s hope it continues ….

Dan Bennett claims we rejected a £15m bid from Boro for Lankshear in January as we wanted him to continue at Oxford for the season and assess his future in the summer. Also says we’ll demand a £20m fee to sell with clubs in Europe interested, there’s also Championship sides interested in a loan move.

Can we not just sell dumb and dumber, sign a new ST and have Lankshear as understudy?

Joost Blaauwhof says that NAC Breda will earn around £4.2m-£4.5m from the van Hecke transfer due to their sell on clause with Brighton and it’ll be their record sale.

And Robbo too.

Kinda proves the fans who said the defence was decent wrong though

I'm still torn on this.

Yes there was calamity defending everywhere but it is impossible to ignore the extent to which this was down to our midfield never being able to control a game, and our attack posing zero threat which meant all but the weakest opposition were happy to push extra men forward and leave themselves exposed at the back.

On paper, our back 5 was the strongest area of our squad. I think this is more down to RDZ wanting to play with WBs that it is an indicment of the whole defence. I don't agree with Ally Gold on this, and judging by his frequently high post match marks for our midfield and attack (he awards a 6+ for anyone who runs around a lot) he doesn't agree with me either.
