Only 10 players got more than 12 goals in the league last year.
As much as I don’t rate Azaz his numbers aren’t bad

How many of those players were midfielders? And you can take away the 13 will still games as we were gashBut if every player played the same number of games as Azaz, there would be a whole lot more scoring 12+
Probably three times as many.
Said it before but it's similar to the Adam Armstrong situation. Sure, Adarma's numbers were very good too, and yet... you just feel he needed four big chances in order to score once, and therefore maybe he should have been bagging more. It could mean the difference between finishing 4th and finishing 1st.Azaz is a marmite player - a lot of people seem to dislike him and those that like him don't get why the others don't.
Discussion in the stand around me was similar to on here too (he's marmite).
I just think he doesn't ever "look" busy and he seems to lose the ball a lot but that's because (IMO) he's always in a position to receive the ball and try to do something with it and a lot of the times it won't come off.
He's a starter for me unless injured. He'll get double figures again this season and his assist count means others are scoring too.
That's ridiculous. Any team can argue that they had bad runs of form. I remember Azaz missed basically an open goal at home to Boro. Was that Still's fault? What about the advantage Azaz has playing in a team on an unbeaten run of 20+ games with the likes of Scienza and Larin playing alongside him?How many of those players were midfielders? Probably right with Armstrong but isn't that the difference between a good championship player and a good PL player. They both try to do the same things but one needs a few goes at it to pull it off and other needs just one.Said it before but it's similar to the Adam Armstrong situation. His stats are good. Not wonderful. He's a top half player, but not top 2.20 goals contributions from midfield..., Yes lets bench one of the leagues top performers in this position.
He is definitely a marmite player and can be that in one game.Azaz is a marmite player - a lot of people seem to dislike him and those that like him don't get why the others don't.

I dont think it helped that he was playing almost every game and carrying an injiry towards the end of the season. His off the ball output would likely increase if we could rotate him like we did with the rest of the midfield. My issue with Azaz is that he’s a complete passenger when we don’t have the ball. His pressing and defending is just not there in 9/10 games. With the ball he’s a decent enough player but that will never do it in a top team.
They've just appointed Rohl as manager so he may want to take a look at him.Would like us to look at Bobby Clark as a rotation option with Azaz. Sounds like he’s not too fancied at Salzburg and might be open to the move, was on loan at Derby last season.
