Not a fan of the new kit, not sure why people who like it keep posting pictures of Billy Bremner online either? Not really a City legend if you ask me. One of the people who were marketing it online is called Leigh Jenkinson , was disappointed it wasnt actually him, more of a City legend than bloody Billy Bremner if you ask me

It was a period of virtually nothing so it stood out as a moment .

The moans at that time were 'we're not bloody Watford'.
As an aside I see Oxen have added Barnsley and Shrewsbury to their customer list. From small acorns... :emoticon-0138-think

It's our time.
People like to moan of course. The irony of me not liking this shirt is that being a big bloke it would probably look better on me than the usual ones given the styling

I had a few Ben Sherman's back in the day and you're right, they were very good quality, can't remember how much they were from memory.

Arthur Blacks were bespoke, much dearer and costed on what you wanted, what you wanted on it and even if you wanted your initials embroidered on it? The quality of Ben Sherman's nowadays is poor and you're better off buying a fake off some market stall as they seem more robust?

Digressing a bit here but I bought my first 'cherry reds' 72ish from Mallinsons in Driff and from memory I'm pretty certain they cost £7.50 (as I had to pay for them myself through potato picking earnings).

You walk into Dr Martens now and they're £150-£200...WTF !!!
DMs are not the same quality as they were in the seventies. My better half bought a pair of black dm shoes on shields road in Newcastle 50 odd years ago for eight quid. He still wears them today. My daughter’s partner told him he could sell them on Vinted for over a 100 quid!

I heard that sales yesterday were a lot more than the first day of last years sale and over 1000 in the first hour online

Worth paying a little bit more for Solovair.

I bought a pair in the 70's and polished 'em rigorlessly with Oxblood polish, best boots i've ever worn.

There is only one factory in Northampton that still makes them in the UK. I bought a pair of the Made of England ones a few years ago and they cost a bit more than the standard ones but the quality is better. Most Docs are made in Vietnam these days.

If companies like Oxen can start to make a headway why haven't Admiral or old brands like Bukta got their foot back in the door ?
Pretty sure ive seen kids with Gola bags but it just reminds me how **** the original gear was, Gola football boots were godawful
