I hope Les finds a mate one day.

I’m warming to the kit slightly but I still think certain design choices are ****e. The Oxen logo should be black and the HCAFC badge should be the 1979-82 tiger head with ‘Hull City’ under it if they wanted to go retro. They’ve used a similar tiger head on the training clobber.

Thats them! Although mine wasn't as loud as that. Remember you could have piping down the seams and as many buttons, even mother of pearl, as you wanted, depending on cost.
I think when the Bay City Rollers burst onto the scene Arthur Blacks reputation took a nose dive.

Yes,the tartan mob used to go in there too,a lot of lasses but a fair few blokes too and it did seem to drop off not long after that.

I suppose the punk rock explosion put paid to it in a lot of ways, fashion shifted in a big way.I started sending off to London in 77 for authentic hand made punk rock gear(NME ads section),in fact I used to buy from a lass(Alex Michon) that made the Clash's clothing and she occasionally sent me up tour posters and tour badges when I ordered as she knew the band...A sort of punk rock equivalent to Vivienne Westwood but never quite reached her fame. Her T-shirts,Trousers and Jackets were extremely good quality and pretty inexpensive.

Now everything is mass produced, poor quality and throwaway,it's criminal!!!

We had another clothing outlet at the top of Buchanan St(up near the Bus Station,'Argyle House') that specialised in bespoke jumpers but they were expensive from memory.A few of my mates used to buy them in red, white and blue and other blokes wore green white and gold...Glasgow was awash with Club Colours and still is to this day.

I like the new kit and will most likely be buying it (and keeping it sponsor free). I'm looking forward to the away kit and any third kit we end up with too.

I don't mind the thick stripes. We've actually done the same style of stripes with previous kits. Funnily enough, the last Premier League kit we had used the same stripes and white collar and sleeve trim. Personally, I think that's a nice coincidence (despite the way that season started and ended).

You could confirm this but I remember buying my first Ben Sherman shirt in 1972/73 for £12, my wages were £22 a week, £12 was a lot of money then, the average adult wage was about £35/40 a week, today it’s supposed to be £750 a week, not in Hull it isn’t but £64 is not a huge percentage of the weekly wage like a Ben Sherman was.
Perspective.
This is true .
I remember when I started work in 1982.
I was on £32 per week and bought a pair of Adidas Forest Hills trainers for £35.

Doesn't us having a totally unique and not a template shirt make us stand out in the whole of the 92? I think it does.
Spurs have Pony, who are they, Everton, Castore, nope, Wolves Sudu, no again,. Palace, Joma not exactly stand out names are they?
Adidas have 8, Nike 3 and Umbro 2.
Wait until you see the shirt.
hink Joma do decent shirts but I get your general Jist

Some 'wag' just posted on Facebook 'when we had Noel Edmonds' in Goal...

However and I know it won't change, I preferred the stripes this way round, but would have preferred black shorts and not that bothered about socks, but not white...

The stripes were better on that version though I never bought it.

Start of a slippery slope and difficult to get a shirt at various points during that time.
