Just heading back from a meeting in Sheffield with a great organisation keeping kids safe and online and in the community through sport music and social action. They genuinely nurture and care for their young people. Young people from multiple backgrounds, migrant and non migrant. Pretty simple offer. If more did that more would be safer. The leader is somali born, breeds positivity and loves the queen. It’s not about history, its about humanity.

Far better than this kind of patriot.

On 28th May, 2026, Raise the Colours member Billy Allison appeared at Stafford Crown Court, charged with murder and grievous bodily harm with intent, in relation to an incident in Lichfield on 24th May.

Defence Secretary John Healey resigns over military spending plans - BBC News

Interesting. Starmers days might be numbered.
Lindsay Hoyle allured to this in parliament the other day, said there were rumours it would be announced on Friday, he wasnt happy !
We are living in dangerous times with dangerous people in the chair in Russia, USA, China, North Korea, Israel........
We should be ramping up spending on defence and quickly.

I think this is the trickiest resignation so far for Starmer. Healey has been a loyal minister to every Prime Minister he's worked for, but felt he had to resign on a policy matter. Far more damaging IMHO than resigning simply in an attempt to force a leadership change.

Good post but I think its a lot worse than loyalty. The first duty of the Government is the defence of the nation and its citizens. Healeys scathing resignation letter suggests that this is not the case with Starmer and Reeves. Para 6 of his resignation letter states:

'Since then, you have been unable, and the Treasury has been unwilling, to commit the resources that the nation needs to defend the country at this time of rising threats'.

Scary stuff......if you believe in all that.

I think he's being very unfair as Starmer said in PMQS it would be published before the NATO conference in two/three weeks time. There's something more to this than that timing quote.

You are so blinded by your love in for Starmer. Would you ever not support him for instance, if he knowingly employed known associates of convicted ****philes, would you support him then?

Not the way I'm reading this unfortunately. The report I heard on R4 PM programme yesterday said Healey wanted an additional £28b over the rest of the parliament to deliver his improvement package for the armed forces. He was told that was unaffordable so he went back and said £18b was the bare minimum and that would require him to scale back his plans. The final settlement offered was £13.8b which included £3b of 'creative accounting' by HMT so essentially £10.8b. Healey didn't think this was something he could sell as a minister so resigned.

I'm all for cabinet responsibility but when something like this happens, and a minister feels he is being asked to sell something that he fundamentally disagrees with, I reckon resignation is the decent thing to do.

Children who were groomed, sexually abused and then prosecuted for crimes, including prostitution, are still being failed, the author of a landmark report has said.

Baroness Louise Casey, who led the national investigation into grooming gangs, called on the government last year to quash any convictions of victims who were criminalised when they should have been protected.

The government has since introduced legislation to pardon "child prostitution" offences.

However, in an exclusive interview with the BBC, Baroness Casey said that was the "lazy option" and did not go far enough, adding there should be a comprehensive scheme to look at quashing all wrongful convictions for victims.

"I feel that they've gone for the easy option and, if I'm being more brutal, [the] lazy option of not setting up a disregard scheme with enough thought, enough care and enough action," Baroness Casey told the BBC.

So far, she said, "they have failed".

What do you expect from Fa gash, he is a gentle soul... and doesn't like questions about his crypto bribes or when he incites violence, or when asked about the failure of Brexit, or the mass migration he and Bonko caused... being fundamentally a kind person, hard questions hurt him... surely there cannot be any other explanation?

Farage refusing to speak to journalists now in case they ask him questions he doesn't like. His mate Putin does the same. Fanboys can still get their fix from his "essays" on Twatter or Reform TV (GB News)
Unbelievable Jeff

Starmer supposedly announcing tomorrow that to use internet you will have to verify you are over 16 with either a passport, driving licence or a credit card. Well that's me ****ed then :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Policy was based on listening to people, especially those that had experienced terrible loss. For children to be happy and safe, a world away from social media, where it is easier for bullies to harass and harm our children. Parents will welcome this protection against the most powerful company's in the world.

Are you happy with the ban?

I am happy with the ban and agree with everything you say, I am not happy that I will have to upload my ID if I choose to engage in social media apps.
Its a sly way to implement his digital ID.
