It's part of the fabric of this club to endlessly discuss potential 'anthems' but also poo-poo any that emerge. Even Acun has adopted this mentality and is now going on about needing our own anthem. Just let it happen organically and stop thinking about it so much ffs.
It has just happened, organically. Stop thinking about it so much. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think I have what should be the club anthem... not any words to remember which is a bonus, good soundtrack and a bit to get people bouncing...(change night for day when applicable)

I got a feelin'
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night
A feelin'
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night
A feelin', woo-hoo
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night
A feelin', woo-hoo
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night (I feel)

[Post-Chorus: will.i.am & Fergie, will.i.am]
Tonight's the night, let's live it up
I got my money, let's spend it up (I feel)
Go out and smash it, like, "Oh my God!"
Jump off that sofa, let's kick it.. off

'Tonight', breaking news ...
you'll be bleedin' lucky, modern football. :emoticon-0138-think

It's our time.

I don’t get why some people don’t like Can’t Help Falling in Love just because Sunderland fans sing it too. Loads of clubs sing You’ll Never Walk Alone but it doesn’t seem to bother Liverpool, Celtic or Dortmund fans.
Personally, I can't stand it. Nothing to do with Sunderland. Didn't even know it was their anthem until recently.

When did it actually become "our anthem" ? It was always just a random song that most clubs sang at some point in a match. I liked it at that point.

I think my biggest issue with it is that it has to be belted out on the tannoy to tell people when they should sing it. I rate that as highly as drummers and goal music.

Just to note, as much as I like the Adele song, its a **** song for an anthem, unless you just start at the chorus. All the earlier **** just doesn't work.

It was first sung in the Kempton towards the end of our life at Boothferry Park so it has some age to it. I didn't know it was Sunderland's song when City fans first sang it, it was just a popular song that caught on. I know Sunderland sing it but it doesn't make it their copyright and cannot ever remember them singing it at Boothferry Park.
I thought it was a bit cringeworthy at first but it has stood the test of time at City, much, much longer than most terrace songs.
I quite like the shortened version played before kick off and no-one can argue that it isn't loud and sang with some passion especially in games towards the end of last season. So in my eyes it is the best we have have and the best I can remember.
In the ideal world we would have our own anthem, original and meaning something only to us and I do envy Hull Fc having 'Old Faithfull', and HKR have recently adopted the Erasure song and made it their own. So it can be done even though I cannot see what Erasure have to do with East Hull or a cowboy song has to do with Hessle Road but there you are.
I'd stick with Elvis for now and maybe give Acun's Turkish anthems a listen too, maybe he might have a gem amongst them? Whilst throwing the challenge out there in a serious attempt for an artist, group or anyone for that matter to come up with something better.

Similar thoughts.

The Blunts use to sing it as well from memory but Sunderland have belted it out for years. Remember Tiger rag from my early years at Fer ark but apart from that nothing unique has been kept apart from the modern day ‘Mauled’ which is a piss take rather than a club anthem.

I know Paul Heaton is a blade but Housemartins/ Beautiful South are claimed as Hull , and we aren’t spoilt for choice if honest ……..and if people aren’t fussed over caravan of love , then they have many sing along anthems, Sail This Ship alone for example , but agree with comments above, it shouldn’t be forced . I’d settle for just consistent noise and singing of your standard chants to be fair .

We missed a trick during Rosey’s tenure when we could have used their splendid track ‘I love you (but you’re boring)’

Wise men say is probably too established now to change it and we have sung it since BP.
But the DJ music played leading up to KO is too loud and sh1t so can't we have a medley build up and include Caravan of Love and Eye of the Tiger in that from 2.45?
Different strokes for different folks. I think the DJ music is great and helps build up an atmosphere before the game.

I also do dislike WMS, does nothing for me and it feels like a copycat of other clubs.

That DJ is the reason I stay on the concourse until his racket has finished before taking my seat

You are the DJ and I claim my five pounds. Personally, and I sat within twenty seats of the DJ for the past two season ( moving for next season) and I found him to be a pain in the arse. His play list has nothing to do with football, Hull or more importantly the history of Hull City. It was more fitting to his bedroom or the school disco It means nothing and adds nothing to the pre match atmosphere.
I doubt if more than a handful of his pals are even listening to him.
Bin him and lets get a bit more professional now we are in the Premier League and employ someone, pitch announcer included, who is 100% professional and really knows how to build up the atmosphere at a football match in front of a full house and millions watching live, all over the World on the telly, instead of playing at it as we are at the moment.
