From Larin's POV, great for him to have his future sorted before the WC kicks off. Will definitely be rooting for Canada.

Yeah the fact the World Cup would’ve been going on past the expiry of his loan means it makes sense to get it sorted early. Dunno if Israel are in the World Cup but maybe the same with Peretz

Good news, although I'm definitely more cautious on this one than Peretz. We've had a few strikers who've done well for a while then tailed off. I hope it doesn't happen again.
**** me some of our fans are glass half empty types. Let us have some constructive positive talk. I have had enough of pessism. I want us to leave the rest of the teams in this league chocking on our dust as we rip up the league table.

Saying it's good news is glass half empty now?

Take your pills and go to bed.

Apparently we have a 15% sell on for Fernandes which could hopefully get us 10-12m depending on what he goes for. Not sure they will get the 80m they want though. But there is lots of interest

I expect it was a reference to everything you wrote after “Good News”
Nothing pessimistic there. Just reality. He's 31 and has only once scored 10 league goals in a season outside the MLS while we've had a number of strikers over the years who've started well before tailing off (Rasiak, Saganowski and Gabbiadini immediately spring to mind). This is something I commented on when he first came in on loan. He suits the league and I hope he continues the good form he's shown so far but it would be silly not to acknowledge the possibility he won't.

Fantastic news! This always seemed more likely than Peretz but getting them both signed up so quick is massive for us. Obviously we’ll lose some of our best players too, but having Larin and Peretz in is a significant improvement on what we had going into last season at both ends of the pitch.

I do understand the concerns that he might tail off, was he just playing out of his skin to get in the WC squad and will now just coast? Hopefully not, he seems a motivated and passionate guy to me, and there’s the carrot on the stick of the PL, but even if he drops off a bit and isn’t so efficient, he still has attributes to cause defences problems at this level. Bring it on

I’m more than happy to have Cyle stay.
I’m also wondering if Tonda can do anything to get Downs up to a better level, given that most of his time was under Will Still. He still has 3 years on his contract and if Stewart walks away, the club might use the preseason to see if Tonda can work his magic, before buying someone else in.

I might have to revise my thinking of not going to SMS again!
