Many of us thought that when it finally became apparent that Hugh Dallas was no longer a fit and proper person to have a direct involvement in the day to day running of Senior Football in Scotland and in particular refereeing. Most true Celtic fans were glad to see the back of him. However, by another example of how the powers that be in Scotland's football work, Mr Dallas was by no means finished. He was given a job, we were led to believe not too important by UEFA. It now appears Mr Dallas has got his feet under the desk and worked his particular magic. Just as he did in the high echelons of Scottish football were he influenced and persuaded other departments to do deals with him . He has been at it in UEFA. We all know how the Rangers were reported four oor five times before been punished by a fine. I report, admittedly, by Strathclyde police force, who would never ever have reported Rangers, Hugh threw his backing behind the submission and Celtic were fined and probably be fined again for a banner few in the stadium could understand. In the mean time Hugh has not forgot one of his pupils by managing to get Craig Thompson without a doubt one of the worse and most bias referee in Scotland to officiate at the Euro's
And there he was supporting his team on Saturday , the new ref on the block had a blinder even Terry Butcher said he had a good game , he should get a cup final through it
Are you saying that few people in the stadium would have understood, "**** UEFA"? The Italians aren't the smartest in the world, but FFS! You are consistant with your wind ups, i'll give you that.
If thats what hes saying then hes a *****, **** is the most used most noticed curse world in the world what ever language what ever nation.
So are you now saying that we where fined because of Dallas? Bullshit, we got fined because arseholes sang about the IRA.
Arseholes sang about the i r a !!! On the hear say of the strathclyde police, watch the game again no tv coverage picks up any dodgy singing, last night Liverpool had a banner F A corrupt , be interesting to see if f a have same rules as uefa for dodgy banners
I still want to know why Italians are the only people in the world that don't understand the word, "****".
Harry - you're a complete spastic. If Celtic had displayed a banner saying "UEFA = Corrupt" then there would be very little they could do about that. It was the fact that a section of our support thought that having a banner saying "**** UEFA" was somehow acceptable. Stop being an apologist for the silly wee bams and the politically self-serving. We all know that the "Up The 'Ra" chants have been going on both home and away in the last 18-24 months. Personally I'm glad we got fined and even happier these morons managed to show themselves up less than a week later. Maybe we can be rid of these dimwits from our football club.
I was at the game and heard the line sang that we have bann accused of, so get it right ****ing up you ya dick. I was under the impression you went to all the games ya ****ing fairweather fan.
As every student of Scots law knows, Section 2 of the Civil Evidence (Scotland) Act 1988 allows for the admissibility of hearsay evidence in civil cases: “evidence shall not be excluded solely on the ground that it is hearsay”. http://absolvitor.com/2010/09/22/the-law-of-hearsay/ Anyway the evidence was not "Hearsay" because it was the Police who heard it, not some mysterious stranger who said to the Police he heard it.
Having been called a pedant on more than one occasion, I don't say this to confirm such allegations, rather to clarify the point. This is not about hearsay being accepted under Scots law, as the report was made to Uefa and nobody else. After the announcement from Campbell Corrigan that such chants should be punished as a "Breach" is very welcome. Unfortunately for Eddie Smith, it serves as evidence that he has been utterly negligent in his duties and should be reprimanded accordingly.
But the complaint made was not made on the basis of "hearsay" Reb, which is the only point I was making.
