Congratualtions on being dragged to the PL title by the officials, we all know the authoririties don`t want City winning the league every year and they have done everythng to make sure Woolwich pipped them to the title, the same thing happened when Varpool won it. The 2026 Premier League will be remembered for a litany of blatant favourable refereeing decisions going the way of Woolwich, well done.

On behalf of everyone at and associated with Arsenal Football Club, I would like to extend my warmest thanks to Tottenham Hotspur for their contribution to Arsenal's first league title in 22 years and 14th league title overall.

You gave us 6 points and took 4 points from our closest competitors Manchester City - truly fantastic work from our north London neighbours.

We will never forget what you did to aid Arsenal's successful 2025/26 campaign <cheers>:emoticon-0115-inlov

Your tears are delicious.

Rumours of Saliba having back surgery after the world cup which means he's likely to miss the start of the season. At least with Mosquera, Hincapie and Calafiori we're more than covered for central defenders now.

FACT...

The 2026-27 season will be the first English top-flight campaign without either Tony Adams or James Milner playing since 1982-83.

That’s a problem though.
Means he’ll miss half a season probably

Hahahaha - looks like Cherki has just **** himself.
He must still be feeling the effects of bottling the league.

Disgusting from Arsenal to be anywhere near the top of this table. We need to take a leaf out of Newcastle, Chelsea, Villa, United all showing how to play football the right way without time-wasting.

Arsenal are the biggest club in the world now.
No other team is discussed as much and the fact is that all the media narratives - always false - are there entirely because we ARE the biggest club in the world and drive clicks.

So, Jason Ayto (previously at Arsenal, then became sporting director at Brighton) has left his role at Brighton after less than a year in charge.

Edu also on the cusp of leaving Nottingham Forest despite only joining them 18 months ago after leaving Arsenal.

Then you look at some of the previous guys we had. Raul Sanllehi - his contract was not renewed and then went to Inter Miami, where he was sacked after 5 months. Then Vinai Venkatesham, who is now at Spurs. Probably a decent commercial guy, but has zero footballing operational experience and has been getting dog's abuse for Spurs almost going down.

It does beg the question what some of these people were doing at Arsenal and how they were allowed to be at the club for so long.

I think it's no coincidence that the minute Arteta gets a smooth, capable and experienced operator in Berta, we end up winning the league.

Alternatively, it could be Arteta himself. I get the feeling he is close to Josh Kroenke and will have a big influence in rooting out ANYONE at the club who is not a good fit.

Oh leave off !!

We won largely because everyone was **** and we were ever so slightly better. The exact same reason Liverpool won last season, because everyone was **** and they were ever so slightly better!

So you think even if we didn't make the signings we did, we would still win the league regardless?

Because that's mental if that's what you think.

What's mental about it? We should've won it last year had we not been utterly incompetent. Who were the difference makers this season? Zubimendi? No. Hincapie undoubtedly helped at LB this season. Because of our **** gameplan we saw very little of what Gyokeres can do. Madueke didn't provide anything Nwaneri couldn't have provided - Nwaneri has more end product. Norgaard did **** all, Mosquera helped. Eze kinda helped but had Merino not missed most of the season injured he would've chipped in with a load of goals.

But we actually had a worse injury crisis this past season than we did the season before and had we not improved the depth of our squad, we wouldn't have been in a position to win it. If we'd had Edu or Ayto in charge, there's no way we get all those signings in.

I've always said that our summer transfer window was good, but it didn't really raise our ceiling, our depth was better, meaning we were able to cope better with injuries. But in terms of improving the quality/stardust in our team, we didn't really do that. But it was our strong depth that enabled us to win the league and not suffer so much due to the injuries.

I don't agree that Gyokeres and Zubimendi weren't impactful for at least chunks of the season. I still don't subscribe to the view that Zubimendi was terrible for the whole season, he did play well up until February, but he was shocking after that. Equally, Gyokeres was average to poor for the first half of the season, but improved a lot after the turn of the year.

Sure, tactically, things could have been better and there are still attacking gaps we have to fix both in terms of personnel quality and manager's approach. But Berta does deserve a lot of credit for our window and simply reducing it to 'well, we would have won it anyway' isn't true at all.

Don't get me wrong I am not knocking any of the signings, I was one of the people stating we had the best squad in the league at the beginning of the season and nothing but a league victory would do. So I had that confidence from the start.

Im just not convinced that the signings made the difference, when you bring in injuries, Kiwior proved a capable deputy at LB and LCB last season so was Hincapie needed? Probably needed Mosquera at RB to cover White and Timber. Did Zubimendi do better in the crab role than Jorginho?

MLS was ready made to replace Merino at LCM, Nwaneri proved he could replace Odegaard or Saka, admittedly we needed replacements for both Saka and Odegaard simultaneously so a replacement for Saka was probably needed, we didn't therefore need Eze. We definitely needed Gyokeres though.

I am probably being stubborn here, I just feel there wasn't enough quality in the league this season (across the whole league), our problems were down to excessive injuries because of excessive training as called out by Eze late in the season and/or a lack of rotation.
