He didn’t look particularly impressive for us, and got a load of stick on here. However, he contributed three goals in maybe a dozen (?) games, which for a bench warmer loaned to provide a bit of something slightly different up front, is not a bad contribution. It’ll be interesting how many actual points he gained for us.
I also noted what Hodges (or Holden) reported that he said he was so grateful of the opportunity to have played and had never played in such a positive dressing room, so wants to be here.
I’d say he was worth a punt from the proceeds of the Burstow sale (unless they think he’s also worth hanging on to)?
He’ll only get better, and certainly knows where the onion bag is, so could be a relatively low risk £2/3 m investment?
I’d imagine at 2/3m he would be a very good investment. The only issue being if he was only good enough for our bench in the second tier, he’d probably struggle to make the match day squad in the premier league. So what do we do then? Loan him to a champ club? Thats all Liverpool are doing. Would you swap being a Liverpool loanee for being a city loanee?
There’s certainly a player in there and he could potentially develop into a decent premier league player, just not sure the timing is right for us or him.

Aren’t they also £100m in debt?
I wonder if theres any mileage in the story that their own players were looking at suing them over Spygate?
If so, they are likely ruined as a top two divisions club for the foreseeable. Imagine the infighting.
I think there is a lot of fire fighting going on at the moment. The owner put £100m in last season on top of the parachute payments and they still owe another £100m in fee’s.
Around December the fans were openly criticising the owners, Sports Republic and that only calmed down with the run of results.
And then…

I don’t know if we should consider any of their players even in a free.

Just on the topic of Saints debts etc , on my car travels for work so many clubs like Saints , Wolves , Swansea etc had fans coming on the radio. Telling the pundits they had ‘super rich ‘ owners now and would be in Europe in a few years fighting with the big boys . These owners rarely spend blindly and carelessly for long . I’d like to think we’re a bit more realistic due to past dodgy or difficult owners .

Re Koumas.. sentiment goes out of the window....you bet he was grateful, he likely had a bonus too...
It wasnt from Koumas directly. Holden or Hodges used it as an example of the unity in the dressing room. Not sure he’d use a fake gratitude example.

Yeah it’s an area we will need a few options in EPL in case of injury, but then not all will even get on the bench. And he doesn’t need to be rotting away without any game time.
I agree, definitely no more than £2/3m.
