Awful disease. I hope he fights it and makes a full recovery.

It takes time. I've been on a breast cancer study for over 20 years now. I've sent samples off in the past and every few years, I get a questionnaire to fill in about my health and lifestyle information. Presumably it'll take the lifetimes of women to try and find patterns and then they'll have to develop preventative measures depending on their findings.
Unfortunately I have Stage 4 secondary cancer of the breast (in spine and ribs). I go every 2/3 months for scans and take medication, but have been told there is no cure. I had the original breast cancer in 2012 early stage, but since then have had melanoma (2018) and endometrial (2023) so been limping along for a while. I really wouldn’t wish the disease on my worst enemy and wish they could find a cure.

So sorry to hear this. Hope life is treating you comfortably despite all of that.

I wish they could find a cure too.

Sorry to hear that marra. I pray you can keep going, and they find a cure.

Psalms 23:1-6 NIV
[1] The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. [2] He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, [3] he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. [4] Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. [6] Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

God has already walked before us, he knows the terrain, even when we cannot see the path. When the path becomes narrow and uncertain, the Lord will never abandon you if you allow him to be the shepherd.

Blessings.

Thank you so much for this. I too am a Christian, and although I do not fear death, I would like to hang on for as long as possible. I am determined to see my grandson graduate in July! xx

These stories make me realise how lucky I am. I was Dukes C with my bowel cancer. Definitely left it late to get checked. Luckily thanks to a fantastic consultant and team at the QE I got through it.
Good to hear marra. Getting checked the earlier the better, can result in greater chances of full recovery.

Thoughts and prayers to those on here fighting this horrible disease. I have lost two good friends recently to it. It reminds us we need to be considerate to all humanity and not be driven by those who promote division and hate.

Though Keegan was a bane to our lives for some of the time, all the best to him as he fights this. Remember he ran in our colours in the GNR and he could have very easily ended up at SAFC in 1982 as he wanted to end his career in the NE. The mags showed a bit more ambition at the time and the rest is history.

I really hope you see that and much more. Your posts are very humbling indeed.

God bless mate, and keep fighting on. All on here and elsewhere are pushing behind you.

Kenny Dalglish now posting he is suffering with cancer.

Scotland, Liverpool and Celtic great Sir Kenny Dalglish is undergoing treatment for cancer.

The former forward and manager wanted to keep the news private but confirmed the diagnosis after accidentally sharing the news initially in an "inadvertent social media post".

"I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer," Dalglish, 75, wrote on social media. "Unlike my mobile phone use, the treatment is going well.

"Ideally, this would have remained private because that's the way it should be, but my useless technology skills have forced my hand.

"Obviously I did not mean to make this matter public so I would appreciate it if the privacy of my family and myself are respected.

"As ever, thank you to the wonderful medical staff who have shown incredible care and discretion, not just for me but for many, many others. They are a credit to themselves."
