Agree. All I ever heard was that **** cheesey drumming. We were definitely the louder vocally even with 3k less fans. Just very difficult to maintain any atmosphere there as it’s so big.
We didn’t come across as louder on the TV to be honest.

Don’t like Boro but wish we were like their fans at times. Unfortunately can’t reply to this eejit.

It does look good but its organised and our fans seem to object to organisation and want it to happen naturally but that will only happen until years of it being organised

To be honest, I think its more of an eatery, than a balls-out boozer. I'll head in the other direction...Corner of Greenwood Ave and Beverley Road. Into the Pilot. It's rough and ready in there, should be a good crowd in. Many of whom will be sh!tfaced by 4pm...Me included.

Good call.
Just a little bit further and you will be at Cross Keys, a bit better than rough and ready.

Fans do that all over Europe on the way to league games. Our ticket office seems their job is to make buying a ticket as difficult as possible. My lad was in the safe standing area on Saturday and looking round he noticed whilst our fans who wanted to sing were dotted all over the place whilst Boro’s seemed grouped together. Again, the way tickets are sold plays a part in that. He said a group of Fenerbahce fans near him were creating more atmosphere than the Citynfans nearby.
Very true. I was trying to sing and always do at away games, but it is difficult on your own or with one or two others up in the gods. Boro were louder by quite a lot especially at the beginning. We got going for a few songs but it was never anything like the fantastic atmosphere at the Millwall semi-final away. Perhaps one way of doing it might have been to sell first to attendees of Millwall play off away and letting them buy two tickets each, then Members, then others. But the main thing against us was all the uncertainty. We didn’t know the kick off time, didn’t know 100% the day, didn’t know the opponent, were all caught up in Southampton’s skullduggery and it all sucked out the atmosphere before the actual day and ticket sales stalled. Hey ho. It was still a fantastic day, possibly the best of our Wembley appearances, and the players and management delivered in spades. Congrats to everyone.

Didn’t stop us going up though plus many are going to Wembley again this week after legitimately getting to another final with the RL Squad.
Yeah I was talking to some last night in pub who said they'd have gone on Saturday if they hadn't already booked a full weekend next week .

We are still struggling as a fan base. The reality is that time and time again we destroy our home singing section by forced moves.
We don’t have an ultras style supporters group.
There needs to be a young and dynamic section of support that is semi organised and that does not revolve around and violence.
It was great talking to young supporters before and after the game who were at Wembley for the first time as adults.
Their passion and enthusiasm was fantastic and it was infectious.
We say we hate drummers, but it worked for Boro.
I hate smoke but it worked for Boro.
I also hate manufactured chants. And the ****e stuff we still do at the MKN such as the “It’s a Corner” and the stand introduction.
We need to bring something Hull to the games and I don’t mean the moaning bit.

Got back late Sunday night, spent Sat night around London town celebrating. It was remarkable the number of people that saw our shirts and came up to shake our hands and/or offer congratulations. Some Newcastle fans wanted a picture to show off to their Boro mates: he asked a bloke walking by to take the pic not realising he had a Boro shirt on <laugh>. Great night, phenomenal weekend. Even reading through all the pages on here, I have shed an odd tear at some of the comments. We have some amazing fans.

Anyone know the itinerary for today's celebrations? Thanks

My story was my son - who I first took to the first league game at the then Kcom when he was six - had to go to his girlfriend’s friend’s wedding because she wouldn’t give him permission to come to the game. He was distraught. He’d missed Millwall away because his 170 loyalty points didn’t get him a ticket and had reached a compromise with his girlfriend that he could come to the final after the church service (missing part of the first half) but she backtracked with two days to go. So my wife kindly agreed to come for the first time since we were promoted at Walsall in ‘85 (I think) when she was disgusted by some Tigers fans doing monkey chants at one or more of Walsall’s black players, and called them out on it, shouting ‘shut up you racists’ or similar. Anyway after that inauspicious debut she stayed away for 40+ years but we both thoroughly enjoyed our day out at Wembley, with her joining in the singing when she could. In the excitement of the win she even said she’d like to come next year if I can get tickets for any games - but has since backtracked.

Easy for me to say as I'm not your lad and I don't know her but that's a big no no for me in a woman.
