Ellis and Elphic I don’t think are cheap options. One (albeit out of a job) came from Arsenal, the other a premier club. Plus if rumoured Shaun Cooper coming with him, will be one of the best managers in Iraola back up team. Who allowed Elphic to take charge in training and valued his input.
No idea if it will be Elphic will come all the rumours pointing towards him plus bookies suspending betting indicates it’s happening.
Even if happens, next season is rebuilding the squad so don’t expect to be flying, it’s time to be patient.
This is Scudamore and Bosses show now.
Solid and even exciting comment but my concern is Lansdown still supplies the funding and he has been burnt severely once, will he take any further serious risks?

Think he has to if he’s serious about selling and getting best price for the club.

Looks like he’s finally woken up to the fact him, Jon and Tinnion are sinking as no football brain between them.

Fingers crossed it works, and he don’t interfere. But we all know it could go tits up if he does.

You’d hope that signing Boss, Ellis and it seems likely Ellhick, alongside the influence of Scudamore suggests SL has at last realised he needs to allow football people to run the show rather than friends and family.

The next question then revolves around funding, and how bold we are with signings. Hopefully those types wouldn’t have joined unless they’d been reassured during their recruitment that they’d be given sufficient funds and given the scope to bring in players of their choice

I also agree that maybe, just maybe, SL realises this may be last chance saloon in terms of getting anywhere near the kind of figure he’d want for the sale of the club.

However there’s also a distinct possibility it’s all just smoke and mirrors, he won’t be able to let them have their way once they start disagreeing with him, and as you say it’ll all go tits up.

Dame Nellie Warnock anybody as it like all of the others have had enough of the bullshot and decided to stay where they are which is probably the best choice? It would be intteresting to know how many managers, other than Steve Coppell, decided to pass us by based on the history of Lansdown and his total control?

Here we are again.
Over a month after Struber was sacked and we started the search we are still managerless - with the new season approaching in just over 2 months time.
It would seem that people would rather remain an assistant at another club than take the helm with us.
It’s not the first time either. Before LJ was appointed, John Pemberton ruled himself out of the race.
Coppell left after a couple of games.
There’s something toxic at our club.

Weve saying that for donkeys years
And the conclusion can only be that Lansdown is the issue

Watched the CL final yesterday with Mrs R&W on our anniversary weekend away down in St Ives.
Thoroughly enjoyed the match. I kind of hoped Arsenal would win, simply because they are English and have never won it, but being mostly neutral I was thoroughly entertained throughout.
Strange reading in the news that there was serious trouble with rioting across Paris with many people injured and several in a serious condition. There’s no excuse for that sort of violence whatsoever, but it’s especially weird after your team has actually WON the game <confused>

The French love a good riot !

Would the same, or worse have happened if they’d lost I wonder ?

This is not meant as a racist comment but when you look at the some of the tv footage from the disturbances it appears to be largely attended by North African youths burning electric bikes and making a barricade so that the Police couldn’t get through

Apparently it happens frequently whenever France or one of the bigger French clubs win anything
My Wife and I were staying in Paris when France won the rugby World Cup and it was absolute bedlam but no violence just noisy all through the night. We didn’t even know about it in advance !!
They are saying a lot of the trouble makers from the weekend are not PSG fans but join in whenever there’s unrest to be caused and wear PSG shirts
How true any of this is I don’t know

That picture of him in the wheelchair really shook me up, so thin and pale, I remember him on the pitch, robust and strong, horrible disease, my honest thoughts are with him and his wife.
