I'm not sure I want Spors, Tonda and anyone else who knew out.

Yeah they did wrong but it was an attempt at improving Southampton FC.

It has backfired spectacularly but this is not a selfish act that was only looking after themselves(not saying they personally would not have benefitted from promotion).

This is not Tonda setting up on purpose to lose a match, because he has been given a brown paper bag full of cash. This is a stupid thing that I am sure most other clubs do, certainly pre Bielsa it would have been rife. This is something across Europe and even in the Premier League is not against the rules.

If Tonda had broken the rules and been tapping up a player, would we all want him gone? Did Liverpool want Klopp gone?

I think the EFL have decided to throw the book at us and I feel we need to use this to Galvanise us, stick together and show the world we are Southampton! We are a family and we stick together.

I know we are hurting but how many of us have been let down by a family member or friend who was actually trying to help us? I know I've done things in the past for the good of the family that hasn't worked out, glad my family never shunned me!

Thinking more about the EFL, I feel that they are almost like a reverse Premier League. The Premier League looks after their top teams because their product suffers without them. The EFL punishes their top teams as their product suffers without them! They have ensured the mighty Southampton stay in their top division for at least one more season!

Self awareMore nonsense!

I think this judgment sets a precedent, especially for EPL. Not sure we will see anything on this scale for a long while as it is such a deterrent.

Parson's did not gift wrap the decision. We had to hand over the mobiles and there was sufficient evidence to stick the three charges against us. God knows how many other instances we go away with.

You are unable to post anything that is balanced. It is either Saints are victims or we are the greatest thing since sliced bread, all dosed with a heavy dollop of juvenile emotion.

How would it set a precedent for the EPL when they don't even have the same rule? I know it's been a long time since Portsmouth were in the PL but do try to keep up.

Do you think you'll be in a relegation fight again next season? After your 1-1 and 0-0 wins against us you must be fairly confident

I don't think we'll be suing the EFL for what it's worth, and don't think we should.

A money burner which probably won't go anywhere.

This will be interesting. I do think that the season ticket issue will force SR's hand. The punishment will make many ST holders reflect upon renewing. I think that there will be a new owner and regime lined up by August. Solak has no choice but to cash in. The ban has forced his hand and the club cannot continued under the discredited SR regime. The cheating happened under their watch and is another example of the ack of professionalism. Getting Spors in was a coup but there is something wrong within the club is cheating is not only condoned but found to be amusing.

Speaking of nonsense, Ian - “Solak has no choice but to cash in”.

Err…yes he does. He doesn’t have to sell in the slightest. He can very well clean up the **** the club management left for him.

I admire your positivity but regardless of how we feel about Tonda et al, if reports about the players being angry are true, I’m not sure they’d want to play for him/them any longer.

Of course they are angry, we are all angry but you will process what you are feeling and weigh everything up. Some players may well stick with Tonda(if he is allowed to carry on), some may want to leave if we get rid of him...that is yet to be decided.

If Russell Martin had done this, maybe Downes, Manning, Stephens would have wanted him to stay.

I was pissed off big time when the punishment was dished out but I also realise that Tonda is seemingly the best we have had for a long while, he is young and naive but he will learn from this and I don't feel the crime is worthy of ruining his career, we should stick by him, piss the league next season and then compete in the top half of the Premier League next season.

What is the point of cutting our nose to spite our face? Before the punishment was dished out, most people on here were making light if it, the fact that nearly everyone thinks the punishment is severe shows how insignificant this crime is. If we had got a £500k fine, nobody would be calling for his head!

How about one of you starting a sweep-stake one here for the game on Saturday guessing how many times each team shirt pulls, dives, time wastes etc aka cheating?

It could give you some sort of response when others try to wind you up over this seasons events.

8 each team is my guess to start off.

I think we need to reflect and let the dust settle for a while before making any knee jerk reactions. If it is thought that Tonda is a top manager then l think we should stick with him, we have been through so many unconvincing managers that it would make sense to stick with him.
Regarding players leaving, that is inevitable, we always sell our best players.

Keep going back to the maddest thing being our best result was beating Arsenal, and Tonda saying "we think we have a couple of things we've noticed that we can hurt them with" - and they're the one team we definitely couldn't have spied on.

Hugely frustrating because there's a really good coach in there.

From what I read, the main damning evidence was the whistle blowers group chat. Now I wonder who that was? Has this been going on since the beginning of the season?

In fairness nobody knew we'd been doing it for about 5 months until yesterday. I actually don't think it's that harsh now either if I'm honest. It's a bit disproportionate yes but ultimately any punishment was on the table and there's plenty of precedent for kicking teams out of knockout competitions.

Plus if the stories of him bullying junior staff members into taking part are true then that's even worse.

He's gone mate. He'll get an FA ban anyway.

We know it's been happening since December but I think it's reasonable to assume it's been ever since Tonda was appointed.
