What I find strange is usually, fans of any club are similar in thoughts to one another on most issues. For example the majority feel VAR is being used wrongly specially when it comes to offside. Reading just the Southampton fans opinions on here, there is a huge divide about what you have done, some calling it farcical and others wanting heads to role and feeling ashamed of the club.
There is far worse cheating going on in almost every game in every division. You sent a guy to watch a training session, he would have gathered less information than your coach could have gained from watching the last 5 Boro games

And this is why I think we are so angry. Unnecessary and totally moronic to do it.
Should have been 3 points deduction for each case. I think more cases will now come to light. This will not be the end of the matter.
I expect other clubs effected by the spying to sue.

I think there's a case for both - We can feel that the punishment is disproportionate, but also that the club is embarrassingly crass, incompetent and amateurish.
So whilst I am slightly irritated by the EFL deciding we deserved the nuke, the number one target is the club's management and ownership for making this whole ****show possible.
I think that's the point deduction is, minus 2 for cooperation.
And still absolutely **** all from the club to the fans. We are at the very bottom of the pile as far as the club is concerned.

It isn’t a crime ffs. We’re being treated like criminals by the media, which imo has fuelled this absurdly disproportionate response from the EFL. But no crime has been committed.
Saw a headline that said "Sentenced to death for shoplifting".
Best thing about all of this is hearing from old friends of years past via texts of 'WTF'.
That doesn't necessarily follow though does it? Even if you think it's not against the rules you'd still disguise yourself so the opposition don't realise what you're doing.
The points that Parsons brings up are very valid, regardless of how we feel about the club management betraying players and fans trust.
I can take the punishment if it means that any form of rule breaking by any team, moving forward, is met by the hardest possible sanctions available.
Could it be good for the modern game? Possibly.
