The question is did Tonda know? And if he did, do we want to pretend that he didn’t? Or if he knew should he go immediately?

As it supposedly happened back in December i'm pretty sure that he was involved with it. His history is as an analyst in Germany where spying is pretty much an accepted practise.
It's a shame that he felt the need to try and gain an advantage illegaly and he will always have the stain of cheating on him if he stays in the UK.
I hope that Will Salt doesn't get too badly punished and recieves support from the club, he was acting on instructions I believe.

Im sure a few heads will be chopped after an internal enquiry mate. Blows my mind why yous would risk what you did against Boro who are a lesser team to yous. You just needed to keep doing what you were doing and yous will have beaten them by merit.

The Oxford and Ipswich allegations just blow my mind, especially a team like Oxford.

The funny thing is the Oxford game was one of our worst performances of the season.

Deluded by the club. No chance they change their mind and go oh wait you’re right that’s too harsh, soz Boro we’ve changed our mind, you’re not in the final again now and Saints are. Not to mention Hull, lol sorry lads opponent switch again a few days before the game. Never going to happen. Hull already have a case to be mighty pissed off at the EFL and a case if they lose to Boro. They’ll have been preparing for us. If they’re not pissed off about this, then they must have been briefed ahead of time to prepare for Boro not us.

The only thing which would remotely make a difference in that time is if there was a procedural issue.

Just don't see it. We've admitted to doing it 3 times.

Own it and move on.
There was a definite procedural issue though, and one I’d expect is to use for either an injunction or to sue the EFL.

Every club has 14 days to prepare the defence and we were denied this. Not to mention the lack of precedent to the decision.

I don’t for a second think we will be contesting the final on Saturday, but our challenge is far from over one way or another.

Not that I’m condoning what we did, it was immensely stupid.

When I first heard of the charges I felt the first game should have been fore fitted.

Knowing the utter ****ing clowns at our club I’d imagine our line of defence was that we were spying for the home leg and that sat outside of the 72 hours period.

There wasn't though. That 14 days isn't set in stone and the EFL have the right to expedite it in exceptional circumstances, which this clearly is.

We are clearly going to push to take it outside sporting realms & aim for wider court (maybe injunction), which would push the final into needed rescheduling somewhat down the line. If they go down this route, then no one is playing Saturday & they’ll be aiming to reduce the penalty drastically.

I guess our only hope is that maybe the EFL know if we push this button, their sanctions have no leg to stand on & that’s why the club are quietly confident. EFL can look as though they wanted tougher sanctions from their side, while not actually being legally binding due to discrepancies in their own sanctions & we can get the punishment which we actually deserve (fine & deduction). Extremely wishful thinking, but I don’t for a second think the club are gonna stop at this verdict & many of us did say we thought this will go on for months!

I don’t see how they will reverse this decision, if we’ve admitted to it then the EFL can dole out whatever punishment they want.

Ah maybe. Didn’t think they could do that as it makes for an unfair process for the team under disciplinary process. Having looked it up you are correct I believe.

Unless we're going to be stupid enough to argue this wasn't exceptional circumstances <laugh>

Regardless we should take our medicine and move on imo.

To be fair we did think Fibson would try to do this, so we deffo will. Don’t think they can stop the game though with an injunction.

Yeah probably not. At this point, I’ve absolutely no idea what’s gonna happen haha!

I thought there’d be no chance in a million years to get this outcome currently, so who knows what’s going to happen over the coming days / weeks!!
