Saints expelled from Play Offs by EFL

For the lols, if we do not get expelled, we should appeal the points or the fine jsut to get the Saturday final rescheduled.

But all joking aside, if the panel think we could appeal and be successful, they wont give the harshest punishment as all that will do is cause mayhem for no reason.

Probably did, but the Boro PR team won the argument or Boro acted before the legal team got involved
 
I don't think anyone's coming out of this without being spattered.

On top of yourselves and Boro, IF we (Hull City) win promotion, there's going to be a taint attached even though we're just impacted observers. I'm sure we'll live with that though, as we've had worse hurled our way.

I think the EFL are so far coming out the worst, as they have dealt with this very poorly, especially from a fans point of view.

Then again, don't ask me what the right answer is.

The punishment needs to be seen as strong enough to discourage others. I would go for;

- 12 point deduction next time Southampton are In the Championship (hopefully next season!)
- Tonda Eckert 12 month ban from all footballing activities
- £5 million fine

I think that’s strong enough to dissuade others. Would Southampton appeal this?

To me, if you beat us (or Boro) to go up, you deserve it and enjoy the moment. You can only play who The EFL allow you to.

I do feel more sorry for Hull supporters (and club) in all of this as you have been dragged into this **** show through no fault of your own.

I think we would, but not if it delayed the PO final.

12 point deduction is honestly completely mental as far as I'm concerned. No way does that punishment fit the 'crime'.

New rule or not, it's the same action Leeds did multiple times. I don't see how simply a new rule being implemented means the punishment is that much stronger.

Yeah have to feel for the Hull fans. All this talk is overshadowing their managers marvellous achievement in getting there.

For starters we don’t actually know if or how much Tonda was involved but certainly possible that whoever was involved will get bans. We also don’t know if it was just this one incident or if it can be proven there were more, the severity of punishment should be proportional.

If it’s the single case of spying that can be proven then that punishment is incredibly severe imo and yes I’d expect that we would appeal strongly.

Agree with others that it’s completely unfair on Hull to be dragged into this. EFL have handled it poorly and just let it rumble and get more complicated as a result.
