I understand that but I am curious as to whether clubs negotiate the option to buy fee at the outset? If they don’t, then I understand the need to barter at the end stage.
An option has a value which is very volatile depending on the performance of the player. The value is minimised by setting the strike price higher. So to get a lower price we would need to offer a bigger loan fee to keep the value to Bayern the same.

Just a reminder, nobody was saying "Every club negotiates fees" a couple of years ago when we negotiated Juve down to make Deki's loan permanent

I believe the sentiment on here was something along the lines of "Pay the ****ing fee you ****ing agreed you bald ****" or something similar
I can only speak for myself.

Kulusevski different to Palhinha anyway.

From what I’ve seen, there’s little danger of missing out of on Palhinha so trying for a lower fee makes sense.

Thing is we’ve notoriously built up a rep of trying to overly haggle on deals and then miss out, only to then generally overpay on a second choice who ends up being poor more often than not.

If RDZ keeps us up and maintains what he said the other day about 100% wanting to keep Palhinha permanently, I think the moment the window opens that deal should be concluded. Personally for me he’s an absolute no-brainier, closest player we’ve had to Wanyama, if only we had a Dembele clone.

FWIW I think Spurs sign him.

Any money saved is a good thing though.

In some ways it’ll be a shame to lose him but we’re in such a mess and need quality/ experience in the summer that there just won’t be a path for him here. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him in the Prem one day, not a bad player by any means.
Somebody else who could have had a run of games here and there in the six years sicne we signed him, but all he got was a couple of cup appearances

we are keeping a very close eye on Ousmane Diabaté, an 18-year-old Guinean defensive midfielder currently playing for Gençlerbirliği SK in Turkey.

He’s been putting up some really impressive performances in the Turkish league and cup recently. The report states that Spurs scouts have actually traveled to watch him live, and initial talks with his representatives have already taken place. It seems the club is genuinely determined to secure this talent before other European sides swoop in, and an official bid might be on the horizon.

Definitely fits the profile of the high-potential youngsters we’ve been targeting lately. Anyone here happened to catch any of his games in Turkey or with the Guinea youth setups? Looks like a proper raw talent for the future.

Unsure but De Zerbi is perfect for Senesi, whereas Robertson is ideal for almost any manager.
Like you I think Robertson would be a very smart signing. A winner and a leader and a big voice in the dressing room and would think he would go straight into the leadership group.

Plus Udogie is so injury prone and has been half the player he was since he came back.

Senesi looks a good player and Vuskovic comes in as Romero’s replacement.

Then we need a new GK, CM ( Scott please )
LW and CF ( ideally 2 ).

Top of the shopping list: Nathan De Cat of Anderlecht

Partly as he's the exact sort of DM we need as he's basically a hybrid of Adam Wharton and Sander Berge, and at least one Belgian source has linked him with us in the last few weeks, but do I even have to mention his name is Nathan De Cat?

Yeah they’re the positions I want sorted too.

Robertson, Senesi, a CM, LW and ST in, plus Vuskovic and Lankshear returning and sign Palhinha permanently.

Say our goodbyes to:
Vicario
Romero - he’ll want out
Dragusin
Bissouma
Sarr - won’t get a look in
Gallagher - I can dream but we’re probably stuck with the useless sack of **** due to wages
Odobert
Sololon
Richarlison
Solanke

Would add Simons too but his injury means a January exit at the earliest.

Ship Bergvall, Gray and Tel out on loan along with some of the academy.
