Our players would have no grounds to sue us…no way would the play offs be mentioned in their contracts.
Thank for that.Go to the bottom of the page and click on Southampton. It works for this Neanderthal iPad user.
They maybe took a look at his evidence and said “is that it”. Especially the parts apparently related to systemic spying and other clubsMy take on Gibson having advance knowledge of what the punishment might be is that after he presented his “mass of evidence” to the EFL they took a look at it and told him that the punishment would be xyz, based on what he had presented to them.
This is possibly why he is pushing it so hard in the media in an attempt to undermine the independent investigation, so I hope the EFL has a rule about that.
Yep Helburg took them from 2nd to 5th (from when he joined) & recent form 2x wins in 12games & the wins were Sheff W & Watford who were in free fall at time. They need to come to terms with the self evident reality that they failed to get promoted.
Our spies haven't come back with any information yet, rumoured.Anyone know if the Boro players are still training?
This might be the stupidest thing I've read throughout this whole saga, and that's saying something.- (Rightly) mocking some claims on SW this whole thing was an orchestrated stitch up by Boro involving the ex-Boro analyst we fired
I am guessing that the reality is that this was the actions of an individual and not the club. I can see a fine and no points deduction. The final will proceed with Saints v Hull.I Googled "What have Southampton FC said about Spygate?" not one response! It's clear they haven't said anything to anyone other than the Independent Enquiry, this may be why the Media are being so spiteful.
My thinking also, he was probably not aware of 72 hour rule?I still think it far more likely that others at the club knew/sanctioned it than he just decided to do it on his own.
I'd find it surprising if he didn't given his role, and arguably that would be an aggravating factor on our part as it's surely an employers duty to educate staff on such things. My thinking also, he was probably not aware of 72 hour rule?
For heavens sake, give them some better equipment. Our spies haven't come back with any information yet, rumoured.

In my opinion if Southampton gained no footballing advantage from the incident then there should be no reason to remove them from the playoffs.
If Southampton are found guilty of breaking the rules on spying then it should be a fine.
I do think that the EFL should have a defined set of punishments and trigger points for the different levels of punishment given for an offence giving clarity moving forward.
The rule was probably formulated by a junior intern, who has since moved on to other thingsThat's the thing for me. It's all well and good the EFL deciding to react to the Bielsa incident a few years ago by bringing in a specific rule to outlaw spying. That's fine. But how stupid were they to not set out what the punishment would be if anyone was to break it? There is no precedent to go by when creating a new law, so you need to set it out in black and white.
It's become a farce, including getting Hull caught up in it (who are totally blameless), all because the EFL didn't think it necessary to include the punishment when bringing in the rule.
