But somewhere along the line all that anger got redirected.

Away from landlords.
Away from corporations.
Away from politicians and billionaires.

And pointed instead at Deliveroo drivers and women wearing hijabs.

It’s healthy to hate both.

****ing Ubereats keep taking the order and Hajesh then cancels when he’s two minutes from the restaurant so another rider is needed. Ooooh Panjat has your order and he’s got a few stops along the way including ****ing Carlisle apparently.

So they can get in the bin and we can go back to ordering direct with a Chinese takeaway where there’s a 97% chance you don’t understand each other and you go pick it up and there’s a child doing maths homework on the little sofa thing and you maybe get the wrong order but they include enough prawn crackers to feed an African village. As it should be.

At my local Chinese, the 8 year old child is doing the maths at the counter toting up my bill and taking the cash

Which is the way it should be …

When we were a country and you could order enough greasy MSG nonsense to kill you that no Chinese person would touch with a barge pole for £30

I think it's even more so these days that small businesses are run solely by the family, who the **** can afford the minimum wage now - 4,500 closed in the immediate aftermath of the Rachel Reeves Autumn Budget.

A serious small business is paying a cousin £10/hour cash to wash dishes.

Always enjoyed occasionally seeing staff paid cash doing the lot on roulette in the old William Hill which probably isn’t there now in Stanmore opposite a Chinese which also probably isn’t there

I'll assume @Sucky is joining the march today?

Actually just noticed, Sucky was online at 3.15am, no way is he getting up.

I think he’ll be a terrible PM. He has never held a job outside of politics, he has no business acumen. We seen during Covid when he thought he could reject the government offer and hold out for more money, eventually he walked away with less than what he had been previously offered. He’s as weak as piss and people will trample all over him.

The vast majority of our PMs since WWII have been career politicians ... as for business acumen - the idiot across the pond has more collapsed / bankrupt business ventures than you can count on two hands ...yet got voted in for a second term...

The problem is that Politics has become 99% about public image and persona ... Farage undoubtedly has more charisma than Starmer but, IMHO, wouldn't have a scoobie if he ever got the top job ...

Burnham is currently the best option Labour have in a 'relatable / PR' regard ... Streeting looks, and comes across as, a bit of a gimp, a Labour Gove or Rees-Mogg ... he's not gonna appeal to the 'common man' (woman / them / it / Karen) ...

Served customers in my parents off-licence as soon as I realised there was increased pocket money in doing it <laugh>

I still think once someone is selected to do the PM job it shouldn't be changed, it just ****s the country up. IF Andy Burnham is really that good he should be in the cabinet and on the front benches behind the leader with guidance by sharing his experiences and knowledge. The whole problem with the system at the mo it's turned into a personality contest. It aint half going to be embarrassing for Labour if they were to lose the by-election, it will throw the markets into turmoil, although that will probably happen anyway.

He's also a remainer, so **** him. <whistle>

Joking aside. To be fair I did read an old article that said he would support the leave outcome, but then as time went on he said he would rejoin, so I'm not sure where he is at.

So I'm on the fence with him at the mo.

Genuinely not really sure if I want change or not, because I just wonder what it's actually going to achieve, change destroyed the Tories, Burnham is going to have his work cut out to prove he's better than all the rest (not that difficult) that we've seen over the last decade...well he'll be better than Truss, that don't take much beating.

And @Welshie is chatting **** btw, SKY haven't stopped going on about Burnham, Welshie couldn't even get the name right for the guy that stood down for him, and tried to allude he only stepped down because, well because he's a thick ****. :bandit:

**** off @Welshie

Yeah but you watch the TV like a happy clapping old man

Should try different media apps bro, TikTok, Sky have been out there and posting a bunch of Reformers saying same ole "all da same apart from our Nige" bollocks

I just recall many times he's been on the right side of debates and even stood against the party line for good reasons

Him and tbf Theresa May did great work around bringing about justice regarding Hillsborough.

His record in Manchester is there for everyone to see, it's the fasting growing city in the UK. It's growth is 3.1% almost double the national average

Don't have TikTok, looked at it a few times though, but only for music. Probably my first two go to places for video music, Youtube first then TikTok on a rare ocassion.

Not sure what version of SKY you are seeing in your region, but it's been fully supportive of Burnham where I am. Although as I've said in a previous comment, can't see what any of it is going to change.
