Maybe 1% People are panicking because the EFL want to wait until the independent panel meet.
I think it's more likely that the EFL want a punishment handed out before the game can go ahead, so some of the overreaction from the media and others can quieten down before the match.
It's in everyone's interests (with the possible exception of Saints) for this to be resolved as soon as possible.
