Having had talksport radio on for my commute this morning in case of an update, I’ve actually had my mind changed on this one. Kids were out playing football in the streets of Glasgow last night which never happens anymore, so it was 100% a handball.
i heard that she is insufferable, hope Big Al makes a swift recovery from his Op

How classy of tonda **** to throw the intern under the bus
Its why they made the intern do it after all

"Its probably your dream job to work in football, we will exploit that by making you film teams training
And if youre caught
We will say we had no idea and you wont work at another football club ever again
But we dont care"
Unfortunately having him prominently featured in the manager of the month award photo in February then not having him there when the identical photo was taken for April’s award (when he was on his spying trip) rather undermines the ‘acting on his own’ defence. In fact it utterly scuppers it.

How much more can you actually gain from spying on a training ground ground assuming you have no wires into team talks etc? Oh they are practising penalties? Surely normal analysis of previous matches shows all the strengths and weaknesses you need to build tactics and injuries are covered by press conferences etc. Manager looks a bit devious though?

Has it been shown he'd done it before at different clubs? If not it wouldn't surprise me if he has done it off his own back. Young lad, so desperate for a job in football he takes up an internship for little or no money, decides to show some initiative. No?
And his employers never noticed he was gone or asked him why he wasn't at work? And he never shared any of that footage? Not really 'showing initiative' is it?

And southampton to boro is one hell of a long drive
Not like its just up the road and hes gone for an afternoon

But ifs why they made the intern do it
So they have 'plausible deniability'

Can they just kick Southampton out and then our 1st team plays our reserves/Under 21s at Wembley

The whole thing is bizarre. It’s obviously had some thought put into it as he had a full escape plan but he’s stood there in pretty obvious clothing, bright jeans and a mobile phone. Surely you’d put a bit more effort into the actual spying part or maybe even just hire a professional?

The excuse isn’t going to wash either. “Yeah I just booked a day of annual leave and decided to drive almost the full length of the country to watch our opponents training”

When all is said and done this is what it will boil down to. What practical advantage can really be proved? The punishment has to fit the crime, a dive for a penalty or play acting for a red card provides a far bigger advantage to a team, and what ever happens about that?

Looking at it like that
You think did he do it of his own accord?
Trying to impress
Why not just use a drone if you was gonna do it

I do wonder if we lose the final if we would then also try and sue the FA due to us not knowing who our opponent would be so we couldn't do enough research on them.

Both Southampton and Middlesboro know they are playing us and will be researching us already, where as we will be trying to research both.

I'm clutching here but it's really not ideal prep for us either.

Southampton have removed play-off final ticket information from their website, amid growing fears they could be thrown out of showdown with Hull City amid the ongoing investigation into alleged spying.

Daily Mail Sport revealed last Thursday that a Southampton first-team analyst was caught allegedly recording Middlesbrough’s training from the bushes ahead of Saturday’s play-off semi-final first leg, which ended goallessIt could yet lead to Saints being kicked out of next weekend’s play-off final and replaced by Middlesbrough.
