“The 27 year old intern of our club happened to be there spying of his own accord”

That's their defence apparently, not going to wash is it?
Oh I don’t know.
All they have to do is prove that on all the other occasions the club is accused of spying it was him doing on his own accord and then he never told them what he’s seen, or shared any footage, after any of them…

And all he has to do is turn on them if they turn on him. He’ll be sure to have records and eye witnesses

Yep.
Theoretically if he’s an intern he won’t be getting paid.
He might relish some cash from the media or another club.
Was it midweek by the way? If so what was it they thought he was doing while he should have been working there?

Interesting problem for the EFL.
I assumed there would be a fine and a jolly good telling off, but in these days of constant media pressure maybe they are contemplating something more serious?

They wont....

But they should 100% chuck them out and give boro the chance.

Yeah it opens up other avenues for legal action from other teams, but they have to stand up to this otherwise it just keeps happening.

I really hope we beat them otherwise even a £2m fine means they have got away with it.

A good place to train would be at Portsmouth FC. That would be one in the eye for The Sinners. And probably the place they would be least welcome.
Portsmouths training ground was in Southampton. On the old uni sports centre. I know this will sound like bullshit, but for a season my hockey club used to play on the Astro there and use the changing rooms and canteen. Portsmouth were skint at the time and we did a deal with the uni.
I think that they might still be there.

I understand var is going to be used for the final. Hopefully it will not be the main talking point at full time.
I have just witnessed the last minute Celtic penalty from last night which was given on the recommendation of var.
What a complete joke. Never a penalty in a million years.

This Watford fan reckons we are one of the 6 clubs they've done it to. Not sure how reliable he is but I believe he's involved in scouting and works for a club in some capacity.

The main consideration made by the referee was does he want to live like the Batley school teacher for the rest of his life

It’s weird the entire Football League suddenly backing us (or wanting us) to win.

The suggestion about it not being a fine is because, should they win, they would regain that money and wouldn’t deter others from doing it. If they lose, they’ll still get money from the gate of the final.

It’s a strange one. Doesn’t seem enough time to kick them out at one end of the scale but a fine wouldn’t be a punishment at the other.
Dont know where i saw it but someone suggested that as winning the playoffs is worth £200M and they tried to cheat their way to winning the fine should be £200M.
Now thats never going to happen ot would be a deterrent

Having had talksport radio on for my commute this morning in case of an update, I’ve actually had my mind changed on this one. Kids were out playing football in the streets of Glasgow last night which never happens anymore, so it was 100% a handball.

How classy of tonda **** to throw the intern under the bus
Its why they made the intern do it after all

"Its probably your dream job to work in football, we will exploit that by making you film teams training
And if youre caught
We will say we had no idea and you wont work at another football club ever again
But we dont care"

Has it been shown he'd done it before at different clubs? If not it wouldn't surprise me if he has done it off his own back. Young lad, so desperate for a job in football he takes up an internship for little or no money, decides to show some initiative. No?
