That bet exchanges are still offering 'odds' on Boro for promotion. But I'm not sure any traditional bookies are.
Been reading the Boro and Southampton forums. Boro fans are rightly pissed off. Some are even saying ‘I’d even prefer Hull go up automatically if it meant Southampton are kicked out the play-offs’. Southampton supporters are being incredibly smug and arrogant about it all with only a few dissenting voices who think their club’s conduct has been shameful.
Seen that four other clubs have provided supporting evidence to Boro and the EFL. This stinks. It’s a real stain on the game and not some silly bit of ****housery, in my opinion. They’ll be talking about for years and Boro will have a lot of animosity for Southampton and Eckert.

What can they realistically gain from watching a training session?
If there’s 5 clubs and they can provide any meaningful evidence of unlawful behaviour rather than just hearsay then I would suggest that changes the picture.

Really that's not relevant any more. I'm sure they're regretting it now. If multiple clubs are involved, unless Southampton can successfully maintain their 'lone wolf' argument (and that becomes nigh on impossible if we're talking about multiple clubs) then I think the punishment will be much tougher than any on here have so far envisaged, and more akin to Swindon in 1990 or whenever it was.
Fear that they’re the only one.
I tell you, this’ll turn into the new Operation Yewtree.

If thats 5 clubs who can supply evidence, the question has to be asked, how many sorties have their staff been on and not been caught. Then you add in Bellis to Ayling exchange, the ball boy, I think the EFL would have to make an example of them.
We have grounds to complain if we lose this final. Can see Acun getting the lawyers involved

I think if OLM's Boro leak of a Thursday decision is correct, then that gives us plenty of time to prepare. I doubt many of the players have got over their hangovers after Monday night's celebrations yet.
Well punishment will have to be proportionate. Severe punishment such as forfeiting playoff spot would need to have clear evidence of an advantage gained. If nobody can prove an advantage was gained there’s not a lot they can do. Southampton will probably accept a fine and have the whole thing done and dusted but any points deduction or expulsion will definitely get challenged and probably overturned on appeal.

The game will still go ahead. It's just who the opponents will be that's in some doubt.

Does it say anything in the rules about gaining an advantage? If the deed was done, and it's against the rules (which it is -- and indeed a specific rule was introduced recently to stop it) then they will get the book thrown at them.
Yeah but when Southampton take it to the courts the EFL’s defence of “you broke my rules” isn’t going to stand up very long.

A specific rule was introduced, but in the usual FA / EFL way fudged it by giving absolutely no guidance on the punishment for those breaking that rule. In the only previous case (before the specific rule was introduced) Leeds were fined 200,000 does that set the precedent?
