Sky been doing a walk through to what happened, the tree he hid behind and the golf club that he legged it to.

Quite clearly not on private property and a fair distance from the training pitch. Must be very good spying equipment, if anything of use was recorded.

Not that this is the point, as he shouldn't have been there.

Does anyone know what actually happened on the grassy knoll? Are we talking man with a mobile phone or serious spy equipment?

And security have no authority on public land. Did he just walk away and, if not, why not!!

I read that it was a golf course that is also owned by the club/their chairman, but is available to the paying public.

The Sky live reporting shows the spot he was "discovered" spying is not on private property (as we thought) and the area is wide open with just a farm gate and low fence as a deterrent.

We should still have not been doing it, but it immediately rubbishes the "hiding in a bush with high tech spy equipment" theory.

This guy sums it up well (he’s a Derby fan despite wearing a Boro shirt)

This is way worse though. The worst case of cheating seen in the modern game

Southampton must pay for their crimes.

Imagine what would happen if this depraved menace is allowed to soil the pure and virtuous Premier League.

Clubs that have achieved great things through good honest hard work like Newcastle, Chelsea and Manchester City could be tainted by association. Even the smaller, more pitiful teams like Leeds would never consider sinking to such depths.

No... NO!.. This will not stand!

That line is more telling than it lets on “as the club intensifies pressure on the EFL”. Why should they? Isn’t it now a case of EFL vs Southampton

Boro’s behaviour has been outrageous here

But also the EFL need to come out and at the very least say - the final is going ahead as scheduled or it isn’t

How is a panel reviewing evidence in the next 24 hours if we have 2 weeks to respond?

If all sense goes out the window and we get thrown out then it shouldn’t be Boro being reinstated. They are banging on about sporting integrity but they lost the tie

Just put Wrexham in for the lols (that part is a joke)

Honestly beggars belief that Sky have done live reporting from there.

I think if they are going to kick us out the only route they can take is to say that we forfeited the first leg 3-0 for cheating. As has been said that then opens up a whole can of worms in terms of the second leg as we’d have approached it differently if we knew we were 3-0 down.

They can’t kick us out and not reinstate Boro as they won’t want to not have a Champ playoff final. So if we are kicked out the only options are reinstate Boro or get Boro to play Millwall in a one off game with the winner getting to the final.

They can probably get away without playing Boro v Millwall tbh.

If they did it by forfeit then Boro won our tie. Millwall's loss to Hull is a done deal.

Exactly. Which is why that option is off the table for me. And Hull will now be preparing to face us. It would completely make a mockery of the play offs if they changed the results.

Why are people still talking as if us getting kicked out is a genuine possibility.

It absolutely isn't going to happen
Tbf we don't know that, but i'd side on it still being fairly unlikely.

Still guarded about it though.

Because there is just so much noise and if it was absolutely not even a possibility then the EFL should have said so. Either this morning or even before the first match. That’s the concern. That they haven’t taken it off the table

And the media is whipping it up because it’s a great story and will be an even bigger one if it happens (and then even bigger still if a reinstated Boro get to the Prem)
