The EFL know we would sue if they removed as now. And the crime doesn’t warrant it. I’m expecting a fine …or points deducted if we remain in Championship.

Exactly, plus the EFL set a precedent by only deducting Leicester 6 points for massive FFP breaches (one in the season that they finished top of the league). Boro wouldn't have been able to beat us today even if they had watched our training sessions all week.

That was why our CEO mentioned that we haven’t had any FFP breaches.

And sue for a lot of money. As in potentially £200m.

You have to imagine that’s what is stopping the book being properly thrown at Man City. As guilty as they appear to be they would still sue for hundred of millions

Home! Can't be arsed to read the thread back now but that was the most stressful game I've ever been to. The threat of Boro nicking it on the break and the threat of penalties was horrific. Worth it in the end. Convinced karma did a u turn with all the Boro fans whinging so much! If we go up we must keep Jander. He's PL quality. So ****ing good tonight. Atmosphere incredible from start to finish. Bring on Hull!

It would be a legal nightmare for the EFL if they banned us from the playoff final after two more matches have been played. If they concrete evidence they most likely would have postponed the away game at the weekend. Bring on Wembley.
If they banned us from the final it would make the playoffs a farce.

Middlesbrough don't deserve to be reinstated and if they got promoted there would be huge questions about their right to be there.

The only solution would be to promote Hull without a final which would cost the EFL a s*** load of money.

The whole process won't be complete until after the final, so if Saints got promoted then what would the EFL do.

I imagine the punishment will be a huge fine.

As if Spygate was enough of a subplot, there were also unfortunate scenes before half-time when Luke Ayling and Taylor Harwood-Bellis had to be separated.

Ayling told ref Andy Madley a 'discriminatory comment' had been levelled at him and both managers were spoken to by the ref on the touchline, which led to further heated scenes.

We're told Madley will include the details in his official report and that the managers were called to his office at St Mary's after the game to discuss the matter further.

As soon as we hear anything official you can be sure it will be on the BBC Sport website.

My worthless, uninformed opinion on all the spying stuff is from what I understand is that an intern stood on the part of a golf course that overlooked Middlesbrough's training ground.

The guy didn't enter Middlesbrough's training ground so he didn't trespass on Middlesbrough Football Club's property. He stood where literally anyone could have. It must be well known locally.

Should they have done it. No, but Middlesbrough should have at least done a better job of hiding their training ground and known that their training sessions could be seen.
