I like to trawl through the oppositions youtube content especially when the lads are about to play or have played a team. What has struck me is how professional some of these actually are. The two that made me write this is Mark Goldbridge Man Utd fan ( The United Stand) and Robbie Lyle Arsenal fan ( AFTV).

I only highlight these particular two as it blew my mind what income these people derive from what is ( Or at least it started off as) basically a hobby. In Goldbridge's case, there is a split opinion if he is indeed a United fan as some reckon he follows Forest.

Anyway... The income generated is truly off the charts. Lyle estimated wealth from AFTV stand around 3.5/4 million while Goldbridge has an estimated 7million fortune... Might be just me, but that is outrageous amounts of money for talking about your football team... Not jealous..fair play to them.. but my god, thats some serious cash. Someone Sunderland fan is missing out here given our fan base. I think the difference between these two and others I have seen is the professional production involved. I guess it make it easier to attract sponsors etc

Apparently making money from You Tube channels now is a big thing. When we were away we stayed with my cousin and they watch a bloke who has a channel where he just goes on walks mainly in Scotland and films them. My cousin reckoned he's supposed to be on 80 grand a year - just for filming walks!

There's a good reason that the master company..Alphabet..achieves $65b income every 3 months.

The global reach of Man U and Arsenal will dwarf ours at the moment. That must bring down the maximum income for SAFC youtubers down a few notches.

Still, there's a good salary to be earned for anyone who nails it - with the professional production standards like you say.

All a bit of a mystery to me,but one of the younger lads I know told me a bit ago when the subject was in the air, that though it depends on a range of different factors, anyone getting around half a million subscribers can make a regular income of around £2k per month. I thought that looked an insane amount of people but he said it's pretty normal for someone who gets a following and keeps at it. They need a particular shtick or be well known in the first place he reckons.

I think I'd be chuffed at half a dozen!
