Disagree. Solanke's a good footballer but he's just not the right type of striker for the place we're in. Richarlison's a really good striker but little else. Richi's the right man to see out the season, even without Solanke's injury. Tel's very raw and inconsistent but like Xavi he has his moments and in a better attack would probably show more.
Ultimately, even the halcyon days of Kane, Son, Erikson and Alli only worked when they were all fit. We used to have a fit when Janssen or Nkoudou had to start a game. Imagine going months with a Llorente, Janssen, Nkoudou and who ever else were starting every game. We'd probably be very grateful for a draw at home against Leeds lol

I don't think Conte wanted Richarlison at all. That one stank of a Levy signing.
It was a toss up and spurs lost , Millwall had the big screen with sound and spurs had to put up with the small screen , no sound but I found it enjoyable without the Sky bollox

I really don’t see it with Solanke. He’s a better all round player than Richarlison but that’s not hard and maybe that’s what’s causing people to think he’s a good footballer because 4 years of Richarlison will do that to us. Both players are relegation calibre strikers though.
Tel and Xavi aren’t made for the Premier League, I’ll die on that hill. They both need extra seconds on the ball that you very rarely get in the Prem, Tel’s belter today came from having a rare moment of excess space on the edge of the box.
Llorente was a great striker throughout his career and signed at the tail end of it by us. He was signed to be a back up too. Richarlison was a £60m purchase and technically in his “prime”. Tel cost us more than Janssen and Nkoudou combined, even taking into account inflation, we massively overpaid on him.
Frustrating.
Even more so sitting on a train delayed by 30 minutes to allow Leeds fans to get the last one back home. Bastards never do that for me!!!!
Bit gutted at the result but all our own doing. Their penalty was a stone waller for me, an absolute moronic decision in that position. All he had to do was head the f******* thing.
Not to sure on the subs either tonight to be honest, but that bench was sorely lacking so perhaps being a bit harsh. I've always said it'll go down to the wire and that Kinsky save may well be a deciding factor. Absolutely top, top drawer.
Still convinced I'll be watching Lincoln and Stoke next season though. We have simply not been good enough I'm afraid.

Millwall game kicked off before ours, at there final whistle they came over to watch the spurs game and admitted they wanted spurs to stay up now they were staying in the championship so they can kick the crap out of the spammers
Glad they lost, at least we’ll have one decent derby to look forward to next season.
I’m gonna live in denial and try to not take notice of the PL next season.
Hopefully Spurs can go straight back up but being in the second tier will be beyond embarrassing imo. Spurs could win 40 out of 46 games and I wouldn’t be impressed. Winning the second tier will be nothing to cheer. Shocking to think Spurs could be just 13 days away from confirmed relegation.
Agree with the sentiment but you've got to embrace it for the farce it is and find your humour. Maybe even find the positives too since the noises out of the club suggest Vinai and Lange aren't in danger currently. Relegation might help flush a few of those ****s away, even if we lose a few good players along the way too. And again, VAR has only offered an extra layer of inconsistency to an already ridiculous standard of refereeing so lets at least go back to the good old days of decisions no one understands but at least we'll know when the whistle goes the decision is final.
Relegation to me will feel like the club has died. It’s something we never expected to see yet the club has slept walked into it the last few years with bad decisions and incompetence everywhere.
Nothing about being in the championship interests or excites me.
Please help me with what a foul is (I thought I knew). So the word about not giving a pen to us is that the ball was played first. OK, got it. So if you get the ball first it's not a foul. Except there seems to be times when a player gets the ball first but it's still a foul. Not only that, there seems to be times where a player gets the ball first, and is actually given a yellow for their trouble. Is this (I shudder to think) down to the discretion of the ref? Is there some overriding "endangering an opponent" thing going on? Because subjectivity is not consistency. And we want consistency - don't we? Because as soon as we don't get consistency, there is the opportunity to see other things going on. And we don't want to think that there might be agendas do we ;-)
Yes sometimes a player gets some of the ball first but it’s still considered a foul for an unnecessary level of aggression in doing so. Not something I like but it’s been this way for some time.
The challenge on Maddison was a risky forward’s challenge but he gets the ball and it’s not in any way reckless/overly aggressive so isn’t a foul. Whereas Tel being an enormous ****** trying an overhead kick in his own box is a foul as soon as an opponent gets there first as it would be anywhere else on the pitch.
In the end a draw was the least Leeds deserved, we just weren't good enough, how many saves did Darlow make? Richarlisons miss (es) defined the game we just lack quality throughout, the only positive was Kinsky the save from Rodon was good the one from Longstaff was exceptional.
I don't have an issue with either VAR decision Tel was stupid and the Maddison is one of those where the apparent touch on the ball is probably enough, that said if the ref gives it on field I doubt it would have been overturned as a clear and obvious error.
Leeds are now our key to us staying up, I am more confident of them helping us out than I am Newcastle at the weekend, but I think West Ham are actually playing well and are likely to get at least 4 points from their 2 matches and maybe 6. We will be lucky to get 1.
I am actually quite relaxed about relegation if it sees the clear out throughout the club that sees administrators and players that have got us into this mess leave, there is a danger if we survive that the departures will not see as extreme and we will be back here next year.

He was particularly poor last night, but Muani was little better if at all. That was our biggest problem. I cannot believe that Lankshear would be less effective...
And while I'm a fan of De Zerbi so far, his late substitutions made little sense. Taking off Tel for Bergvall - who TBF to the lad has barely played the last few games - and Udogie for Spence was particularly confusing. Because that basically surrendered our LW area as an attacking option.
The sum of Richarlison, Solanke and Muani together don't make one decent PL striker. That's the nub of it.
The loss of Kudus was massively significant, but I do think that Odobert was starting to show some maturity and consistency when he got crocked.
The clubs failure to bring in cover mid-season will likely prove catastrophic.
I admire the optimism of some of you, but only getting a point last night was a real hammer blow for us. (Pardon the pun). We’re extremely vulnerable now IMO, more so than ever, and whilst the points on the board may suggest that it’s in our hands, I think it’s way more nuanced than that.
The reality is that our record at SB is abysmal. Despite Chelsea being a very average side, it’s almost guaranteed that they’ll raise their game and play like prime Barca against us. With our total lack of attacking ability, the best we can hope for is a draw. But I’m convinced it’ll be a defeat.
Everton are a decent side. Our home form is horrific. I just don’t see how we get anything other than a point from that match. - I’m expecting a similar game to last night.
That leaves us with potentially 1 point from 6. A total of 39. And this is where the problem lies for me. I don’t think we’re capable of getting more than 1 point from the 6 based on ability to perform and mentality.
The other side of the coin is that Newcastle have nothing to play for, nor do Leeds. IIRC, did we not effectively send Leeds down about 3 years ago? I’m sure they haven’t forgotten about that!

This has now completely shifted the scenarios for both clubs battling to stay up and I’m convinced that Newcastle and Leeds will not care about their performances against West Ham. They’ve both got an opportunity to make history, whilst at the same time Chelsea will play out of their skins against us to help the cause.
I don’t see how we escape this now.

Thing is Richarlison is quite good in the air and there was simply no decent crosses into the box as far as I remember last night.

I don't think everyone is against us, just those that inhabit social media! Traveling back on the Leeds train, filled with.... well Leeds supporters funny enough,.there was a fair bit of banter but they genuinely did not want to see us drop.
I'd agree we're toast though, been accepting it for a while now although the Villa game gave me a glimmer of hope.
Upside? My son wants to swap our seats from our usual perch amongst the "stupid and ignorant". I suspect it may not be difficult to do next season....
