VAR could be good if used correctly consistently , It’s the clear and obvious that winds me up, anything that needs more than 2 replays isn’t clear and obvious , also the fact that when a ref goes over you know it’s getting overturned 99% of time . Quite enjoyed the ref in the hearts game last night sticking with his on field decision , a rare sight

VAR cannot be used correctly or consistently. It’s an absolute con.

There were at least 4 West Ham players being held and wrestled. A couple blatantly.
Correct decision would have been to disallow the goal, but then award West Ham a penalty as the holding & wrestling was going on before the arm across / the tug on the Arse keeper.
It's a total joke.

It's the right call with the keeper being impeded, keepers are always more protected and the fact he's being held as he's trying to claim the ball invalidates a lot of the 50/50 holding off the ball.

Amid all the criticism of VAR, why is that Kavanagh didn’t give the foul at the time it was committed and chalk off the goal? Raya was pretty obviously impeded and for all three officials to apparently miss it is really poor.

Being kind to the ref, it probably reflects what VAR has done to the game - it has discouraged referees from giving live decisions in the penalty box because they place too much reliance on VAR to make decisions for them. It has to go.

Just goes to show how little attention I pay! <laugh>

Mind you I only watch City, so haven’t bothered watching play offs unless we’re in them.

I look forward to not celebrating anything, if we get to Wembley, until we’ve all had a few minutes kicking our heels and waiting 5 minutes for a decision to be made…bloody rubbish!

I was there on that terrace in Yeovil with my then seven year old son. What a fabulous day. Sadly he wasn’t able to get a ticket for tonight’s game - if anyone has a spare please let me know. I stopped him from supporting a London team even though he was born in Twickenham because I’d only take him to Hull City matches. I almost feel bad enough to give him my ticket.

Really don’t get all the commotion about that decision. It’s as a clear foul on the keeper as you’ll ever regardless of what else has happened throughout the season. There is absolutely no debate to be had about that whatsoever. I would agree with Al that the real debate should be around why the referee didn’t just blow for it outright and waited for VAR to call it for him. It wouldn’t even have been controversial had he just done as he should.

I also don’t really get why everyone is so upset about it. I know everyone hates Arsenal but surely at most they don’t care and it’s better to see someone else win it than 100 rule breaches Manche$$$$$$ter Hunter buying their way to their 17th league title in the last 15 years?
